For sale is a 1973 Ford early Bronco. Partially restored and modified with original c4 transmission and 302 engine.
First of all let me say this vehicle is not perfect. It was built to be used and driven daily both on and offroad in a comfortable manner. I have had this bronco for years. Several years ago I even used it as a daily driver and would take it on a monthly 300 mile trip home at interstate speeds and it never left me stranded.
But it is an excellent daily driver because it isn't showroom quality. Currently the only two discrepancies that bother me is the paint discrepancy on the hood and the carb could probably use a better touch adjustment wise.
The paint on the hood didn't hold up because I didn't brace it enough after cutting a hole for a hood scoop. It then flexed to often and cracked my paint. There is also a little bit of paint cracking around the front of the right rocker panel. I must have caught it on something while driving. And there are also some very small cracks in the paint along the lines on the quarter panels. The rest of the paint job is holding up great. The areas that have been problematic showed up several months after and everything else has been very strong since then. I actually still have some of the original paint that I will include in the sale that would allow for a color matched correction to these areas.
There are of course little fixes that someone might want to do depending on what kind of quality bronco they want. This bronco would be a great place to start for someone who wants one thats perfect.
Just like every other Ford I have owned it seeps some fluid from different areas but I assure you there are NO LEAKS or puddles. Like most old 302's there is a little bit of oil that collects in front of the intake and at the rear of it but as many times as I replace the gaskets it still happens. I have found it to be a design flaw with these old motors.
I have receipts for most mods but will have to look for them all and I will attempt to list most of the work that has been done.
Paint is about 2 years old I think and is AUDI ORANGE single stage polyurethane
Top was painted with white single stage polyurethane (I believe to the correct ford color)
Heavy Duty extended james duff radius arms for toughness excellent travel and safe handling at high speeds
Relatively new starter, battery, and alternator, as well as plug wires, plugs, ignition coil, distributor, starter solenoid also new I believe
33 inch BFG's
3 and a half inch lift from bronco grave yard with highly adjustable rancho 9000's(this bronco is ALL suspension no body lift or blocks)
LL Long tube headers guaranteed for life not to rust through.
23 Gallon aftermarket fuel tank
Regeared and rebuilt steering box with frame brace plate (much safer ratio for high speed)
Rebuilt automatic C4 transmission with shift kit good to 600hp I was told
Warn Premium Hubs
New felt for windows new weather stripping in some areas
New heater core (will run you out in the winter it works so well)
Street Avenger Carb
Coated inner tub with something similiar to rhino lining with kevlar in it
Full Roll Bar from Tom's Bronco Parts
Small Hitch
Rear bearing replacement
Custom driveshaft and proper rear diff shimming (has NEVER broke a U-Joint)
New aluminum radiator
Old school electric mack truck horn (haven't decided if it is included yet, I should have an original horn if not)
Front disc brake conversion with I believe steel braided lines
New arm rests and some new door parts and handle mechanisms
Inside of doors and most of underneath has been coated to prevent rust with Zero Rust (used on barges)
Bottom of doors have no rust ask for pictures I didn't have enough space to add them on here.
I know there are things I'm missing... but here are a few things it may need.
BOTTOM OF ROCKER PANELS LOOKS ROUGH BUT I JUST RAN A MAGNET AND ITS ALL METAL. I HAD TO REMOVE SOME POOR BODY WORK FROM A PREVIOUS OWNER WHEN A SHOP WOULDN'T GIVE ME A STICKER THINKING IT WAS RUST.
Hood needs replaced or paint discrepancy repaired
Brakes could use bleeding and a brake booster would help
Carb probably could use adjustment but runs fine enough for me
Wheels and Tires seem to need balancing (vibration at 65mph) This has happened before and a balance and rotation fixed it
Driver side seat torn, passenger side is just cracked a little
Reverse lights are on red covered hot switch with a red light to warn they are on. Neutral safety switch needed to fix it. Just never got around to it and didn't mind the switch. (Fix it yourself and then you have an extra red guarded switch)
Alternator belt currently squealing like crazy but I will try to have that fixed before it sells.
I think it is missing one rear seat belt.
Speedo bounces a little bit likely needs a new little plastic speedo gear.
There are a lot of little fixes that could be done here and there and this bronco would be a good place to start to build a much nicer one.
I have used the holes for the original radio for other switches like a heater fan with more selections but I believe I still have the original radio somewhere.
Email me for my phone number if you would like to talk more about it. I can also send more pictures and videos. I'll do my best to show you the good and the bad.
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANYTIME AS IT IS FOR SALE LOCALLY
