Car description

Since I've had several people ask since listing this last night I've decided to put a buy it now price on the car. It is priced to sell.
Up for your consideration is this 1988 5 liter convertible I bought in a package deal a couple weeks ago, since I already have 2 other convertibles and 3 other mustangs I need to be realistic and let one go. Make no mistake about it as it is a project but should be a relatively easy one( paint, tinkering etc)
Unless contact is made with me first all zero feedback bidders bids will be canceled.
I will start off with saying this is a 1988 model car and there is no way in the world I can possibly note every flaw this car has as it has many, assume nothing and ask questions. Odometer is showing 50899 quite certain that has a 1 in front of it. Looks to be a lx before someone added the body kit.
The car runs and does yard drive but could probably benefit from spark plugs and a cap and rotor button, it doesnt not knock or smoke. The dipstick tube needs to be bolted back to the header as it came out while I was checking the oil, Ive jammed it back in for now though.
I have not taken it to the streets as it is not registered or insured, I did drive it down the street after unloading it from the trailer about a quarter mile to my driveway. It has a motorsport 303 cam in it not sure if it is a b or e grind. It also has full length headers, x pipe and flomasters hat exit under the car. It has a cheap oil pressure gauge hooked up under the hood, added bonus! It also has a steeda tri ax shifter, gate is nice and tight and car goes into all the gears. I would highly reccommend towing this home until you have had a chance to go through it. Bring your own battery as the car didnt come with one and I havent bought a replacement.
I tried the windows both front one worked and the right rear tries but the left rear quarter window needs a motor maybe? I tried the top and the pump whines but you can tell it needs fluid and should work. The top itself appears to be in good shape. The car also has a aftermarket set of wheels and tires, the tires seem to be in good condition. The ac compressor is there but is not hooked up, would need work to get it going again, not sure what parts are missing ac wise.
The interior appears to have all been dyed black, it should look ok once cleaned up. This is the way the car was when I got it, it is also missing a kick panel and the piece under the dash(pics shown) but very easy to find and replace. Door panels are crappy at best and at least one replaced, I have not opened the trunk as the lock is missing. Have to get out my screwdriver and see what treasures may be inside. Instead of putting in a new 15.00 ignition switch someone put a button start but you still have to turn the key to have ignition and start the car.
Paint and body well it will definately need it, it has misc dents, dings, pings. nicks, scratches ect and I cannot possibly show them all, stock hood is drilled for hood pins and hangs a little on the cowl vent when opening. No MAJOR exterior body damage except for the front bumper cover (pic shown) the rest of the saleen kit looks ok and just needs minor work. The front cover is repairable and of desired I could repair this for you for additional cost.
Has crappy 1 piece headlights and one is partially full of water. The doors also need 8.00 bushings to close properly as it is a challenge to get the drivers door to shut without holding up on it.
If this car doesnt sell it will be next in line for me to paint and I will hold till next spring. The car will also be for sale locally soon and I reserve the right to end this listing at any time until it meets its reserve. Please do not ask for this information bid what you want to pay. I will tell you that for a 5 liter foxbody drop top it is very low. NON REFUNDABLE deposit of 500.00 is due within 24 hours of auctions end meaning make very sure you want the car. Full payment is to be made in 7 days, if check it must clear before car leaves the premises.
Please ask questions and assume nothing, if you dont see it chances are it doesnt have it. I will answer all questions to the best of my knowledge, I would rather you be happy with the car than surprised. I have tried to be as forthcoming as I an be, Ive only owned the car a couple of weeks and have not tinkered with it at all.
If you need a reasonable amount of time in which to have the car shipped I will work with you within reason. I know a awesome broker that has shipped several for me and it went like clockwork. Arrangments will be up to you as well as paying for the shipping. Clear Tn title in hand. And since I know people are going to ask the only thing I am in the market for is a good large cut zero turn mower.Maybe we can work something out if its BEFORE the car meets reserve.
If you have any questions you can call me directly on my work/business cell 615 400 0185. Thanks for looking and good luck!
