From researching the car, peaking at length with the prior owner, nd reviewing the giant 3” binder of build information, eceipts, nd documentation that comes with it, have surmised that it was originally conceived, esigned, hopped, nd built by Ian Loska back in 2007 in California. You probably recognize the name since he has become one of the top custom builders around, nd is known for turning out radical chops, uper clean work, nd magazine featured show cars over the past few years. From Ian’s hands it appears to have gone off to Ohio for a spell, nd then on to Massachusetts, here it was completely disassembled and turned into the full-on show car you see below with the help of another amazing builder! Receipts, aperwork, nd the internet show that famed “The Race of Gentleman” founder and Ye Ole Chop Shoppe owner Mel Stultz was tasked with a lot of the work in making the car what it is now. From the custom made dash to the paint and striping all the way down to the installation and tuning of the brand new Engine Factory FORD 302ci V8 with 350hp churning the rear wheels thanks to roller-rockers, luminum heads, delbrock TOTAL POWER PACKAGE, nd a monster WEBER carb keeping the fuel flowing. The engine has enough chrome, illet, nd polished goodies on it to look amazing under the show lights, nd what isn’t gleaming bright stuff has been painted, etailed, r cleaned to show wonderfully as well. Wiring is super clean and well routed throughout the car, s are the lines. It sounds amazing rumbling through the custom installed exhaust system, nd makes sure everyone around turns to look when you roll into the cruise night spot. A PERTRONIX Flamethrower billet distributor and coil, SD STREET FIRE ignition, nd MSD rev control all work together to make sure that it starts with ease, dles clean, nd is ready to roll wherever you want to take it. There are no known issues with the engine, nd with just over 3,300 miles on it since it was installed, t is hardly even broken in! Other than a couple spots underneath where the engine paint has chipped from road debris, t is a quick clean and detail away from a “Best Engine” trophy at your local car show! The engine is mated to a fresh Ford C4 automatic with a smoothed FORD 9” with Strange Axles, imited Slip Differential, ustom 4-bar set-up, oil-over shocks, nd panhard par, ll of which have been either cleaned, ainted, olished, r otherwise detailed. Front end is beam axle on transverse spring with tube shocks, nd everything comes to a fast and easy stop thanks to a full hydraulic Wilwood DISC brake system at all four corners, ncluding a Wilwood master cylinder, nd custom lines. The body has been channeled over the custom 2x3 frame, nd is kinked at the firewall, ’d 12” in the rear, nd treated to a 13” chop by Ian Loska that is so clean it looks like Henry designed it that way! The frame, hassis, nd all the associated components are have either been painted, owder coated, olished, hromed, r otherwise cleaned to be show ready, nd other than a little dirt from not being detailed by me, hows only a handful of little marks from normal use and driving it 3,300 odd miles. The fully padded and interior lined top comes off with the removal of four easy-access hidden bolts, reating an open top machine that makes you feel like you have two cars! I am 5’11” and weight 250 pounds, nd I can fit in the car and drive it without issue with the top on. If you are over 6’ tall, r more than about 285 pounds, ou will have a tough time driving it with top in place. Take the roof off, nd you can probably take your pet giraffe for a spin, ecause it is all open air! The top seals up great, s do the doors, nd I would say the car is probably as weather tight as any 1927 Model T, nd includes slide-in side windows for the doors which are stored in the polished aluminum storage cubby under the trunk. I have not used them, ut did get caught in a pretty good rainstorm coming back from the beach one day, nd found that the chop is so low that water really doesn’t have much of a chance to come in while you’re driving it! The body is solid, lean, riginal Henry Steel, nd you can run a 4”x4” felt magnet over the whole car without finding any bondo patches, hicken wire, r crushed up beer cans in it. The radical custom Purple Paint was also done at Ye Ole Chop Shoppe by Mel Stultz, nd is only a few years and 3,300 miles old so it still shows incredibly well, ith only a few little stone chips and minor blemishes from normal use, nd no dents, arge chips, ig scratches, r damaged areas. It is fully capable of entering a car show RIGHT NOW, nd it I have not even detailed it! The finish is glossy, lick, nd wet looking, nd shows just as nice in the sunlight as it does under the glow of a streetlamp. Firewall was contrast painted in cream while, long with the dash and some of the interior, nd it all shows wonderfully as well. Custom pin striping inside and outside of the car was all hand applied and it is clean, asteful, nd really finishes the cars appearance off nicely. Hand painted “InsaniT lettering on the car lets everybody knows what to call this radical machine! Windows in the car are all clean, nd free of cracks, hips, ogging, nd laminate issues. Doors close and fit tightly, nd have stock style exterior handles to get inside. All of the bright work, hrome, nd trim on the car shows wonderfully, ncluding the fully restored grill with OEM temp gauge and FORD script logo, eadlights with stainless rock guards, irrors, ear trunk latch, late light, nd teardrop tail lights. Practically all of the hardware like nuts, olts, crews, nd washers still gleams and shows like new on the car! It has basically spent the past few years in a private collection, tored in a climate controlled garage with a battery tender hooked to it, nd has been taken out on a few cruise nights, nd local shows. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE SEEN! I hope that whoever gets it will take it some major shows, ubmit it to magazines, nd do all the other stuff a killer ride like this deserves to have done on its behalf. The car rolls on ROCKET STRIKE polished aluminum wheels that are wrapped in FIRESTONE DELUXE WWW tires in the front, ize 6.70-15. Rear end is treated to massive M/T RADIR DRAGSTER tires size 8.20-15. All of them are only a few years old, nd have just over 3,300 miles on them with no damage evident. The interior on the car is extremely clean, nd consists of full carpeting, oor panels, ick panels, illar panels, ear panels, eats, nd side cushions. Dash is a custom made, ne-off unit by Mel Stultz, nd is clean, teel, nd painted in cream white with the aforementioned custom pin striping. It is fit with a killer looking custom made gauge pod surround, hich houses a set of vintage style S/W gauges to monitor FUEL, EMP, IL, nd VOLTS, long with a SPEEDOMETER. All appear to be working as they should. LOKAR supplied the tall shifter with 8-BALL knob, s well as the functional chrome E-BRAKE handle, oth with leather boots and a custom fabricated base. Billet rear view lets you peek over your shoulder for Johnny Law when out cruising, nd when used with the side mirrors, ctually lets you see around you pretty well when driving. Carpeting is clean, eat, nd damage free, nd looks great in the car. Upholstered areas are clean, eat, nd free of rips, ears, amage, nd seam pulls, nd the stuffed portions are still super comfy to the butt, ack, nd sides. The rear panel is fully upholstered, nd can be removed to access the battery from inside the car, un a charger wire for a tender, r just display the clean and painted rear end better at a car show. Straight steering column is topped with an aluminum 3-spoke steering wheel with black grip that looks great in the car. Column is also home to the vintage turn signal control box, hich is fully functional along with the rest of the headlights, ail lamps, nd brake lamps on the car. Wilwood supplied the brake pedal, hile LOKAR was tapped again for the gas pedal, nd both look and function wonderfully. Switch controls and ley location are on the lower left of the dash, nd everything works like it should. Trunk opens to reveal the clean and neat rear end section, long with the show polished aluminum fuel tank and strapping, nd the custom fabricated storage box with straps. It has a stock latch so it can be held opened at car shows. The car is a blast to drive, nd gets ALL KINDS OF ATTENTION wherever you take it! Power is MORE than enough to do all sorts of hooligan activities if that is your thing, ut it is also reliable and proven as a driver and can cruise on a 50 mile trip without worry. It does NOT run hot, nd thanks to its new radiator, arge mechanical fan, i-flow performance water pump, nd auxiliary electric fan, eally doesn’t creep past about 193 degrees, ven in the midst of our 100 degree Florida summer. It hasn’t leaked, ept, r otherwise made a mark on the shop floor since I have had it, nd it does not smoke or exhibit any sign of mechanical issues. The four-wheel disc brake system is perfectly tuned to pull the car down from speed without any odd fade, ulling, r excessive modulation. Everything on the car appears to be working as it should, nd after driving and spending some time with it, would have to say that all you can really do to the car is give it a good detail when you get it home. This car comes with a giant binder about 3” thick that documents and supports the information I have supplied, nd it is all neatly organized in plastic sleeves for quick reference. It also comes with a full appraisal by noted Tony Nancy collector and world renowned appraiser Dan LaCroix. This car has been in a private collection, nd shown only a few times since completion. It needs to be presented and shared with the public through magazine features, ajor show and event entries, nd all the things it so obviously deserves because it is SO MUCH FUN to cruise in, ook at, nd people absolutely LOVE IT!
