"The Queen Mother of Ferraris" 1970 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 Coupe (European Version) Chassis No. 13583 Engine No. 13583 Documented by Ferrari Historian Marcel MassiniOriginally Delivered in Exceptionally Rare Verde Bahram PaintSold New & Long-term Resident of Geneva. SwitzerlandPower Windows. Power Steering & Air ConditioningConsidered the Most Comfortable Driving Model of the 1960's Era V12 FerrarisAn Ideal Tourer to Enjoy on Driving Events or Casually ShowOne of Only 809 Examples Produced from 1967-1970 The 365 GT 2+2 was built for the sporting enthusiast with additional comfort. giving the quintessential 1960s vintage Ferrari experience with the last of the curvaceous Pininfarina-bodied grand tourers. powered by the final iteration of the Colombo V-12 two-cam engine. The inclusion of additional convenience and luxury features further enhanced the car's drivability. while the familiar front-mounted 4. 4 liter V12 and striking Pininfarina styling ensured that the car retained all of the traditional positive Ferrari traits. According to Ferrari historian Marcel Massini. 13583 was delivered new to official importer SAVAF (Societe Anonyme pour la Vente des Automobiles Ferrari) in Geneva. Switzerland. where it was sold new to a local resident. Importantly. the car was delivered in Verde Bahram paintwork over Black leather upholstery. It is said that Verde Bahram was a special order Ferrari color which only 2 Dinos and 3 Daytonas were outfitted with. so to find a 365 in this color is highly unusual. Amenities include power windows. power steering and air conditioning. It was later repainted. but still resided in Geneva for many years. until it was imported to United States in the 2000s. According to Ferrari Historian Marcel Massini during the late 2000s. the car would receive a full servicing. comprising of an engine rebuild. ANSA exhaust. brakes. shocks. suspension and air conditioning work. along with an exterior paint freshening at an expense of about $60. 00. 00. This high quality work is still reflected in the over condition today. This particular Queen Mother is a very nice high quality driver or casual show example. Painted black over complimenting black leather upholstery; the cabin looks well preserved. showing a comfortable patina with original wood veneer. recently rebuilt Becker Europa radio. working electricals and original etched glass. A spring of 1970 Ferrari Owner's Club Booklet and 365 Handbook reside in the glove compartment. The exterior's finish displays a beautiful and honest consistency throughout without any signs of underlying corrosion. as does the undercarriage. Its numbers-matching powerplant quickly revs to power and the car's overall drivability feels very solid and suitable for continued enjoyment. A recent compression test showed good results of 155-160PSI per cylinder. This offering is further complimented with a properly presented engine bay which shows evidence of much recent service including new correct Baldwin oil filters. Likewise. the tidy luggage compartment houses a matching Chromodora spare wheel. knockoff spanner wrench and what appears to be a nearly complete tool roll with jack assembly. To round off the presentation a 16 hour full concours detail has been performed. Ferrari's 365 GT 2+2 is a gentleman's sports car with the pedigree to match. Often called the "baby Superfast" it has a timeless style and uncompromising performance. so common among the greatest Ferrari's classics Grand Touring cars. Early V12 Ferrari's have become extremely collectable and highly sought after investments. and The Queen Mother of Ferraris certainly commands a respectable entry into the league.
