Car description

1971 Dodge Challenger R/T340 AutomaticShaker Hood
This is a spectacular example of a very rare car. Only 224 factory equipped Shaker Hood (code N96) 1971 Challengers were built, and only 39 of them were 340 R/T's, this is one of them.
Sold new in Oregon and remaining a rust free West car its entire life, this original sheet metal car was a rock solid candidatefor the ground up restoration it received. Nothing was overlooked in the restoration, every part either being restored or replaced bumper to bumper, top to bottom. The fresh paint is beautiful with no chips, scratches, or touch ups. Very low miles since the restoration was completed, Its only been driven occasionally to local shows and shows no obvious wear anywhere. It's as nice (likely better) as it was when brand new in 1971. This is not your typical ebay auction junk, this is a serious investment quality car.
This car has the following factory original Numbers: Original Dash VIN tag, Original Fender Tag, Original Radiator Core Support Stamping, Original Cowl Stamping, and Transmission with factory stamped VIN Sequence Number.
It did not come with a broadcast sheet and the original engine was replaced with another 71 340 which was missing when the car was found. The replacement 340 received internal upgrades including a416 stroker kit which gives the stock appearing engine the punch of a (healthy) 440 when you get on it. The engine was built to run on regular pump gas, starts on the first twist of the key, and idles smoothly with a nice mellow rumble, its totally tame until you get on it.
The special Elastomeric front & rear bumpers (mint originals, not reproductions)and the rear Go-Wingwere the only added or changed options, all else is as the car was originally ordered.

*Additional information concerning the elastomeric bumpers:
I incorrectly stated that they were added to the car. When the car was found it was wearing the rubber bumpers still wearing some of thier original factory applied FC7 Plum Crazy paint. Accordingly they are most likely original to the car. Since bumper codes were not used on 71 Challenger fender tags no claim is being made that they are original to the car without documentation to back it.
