Car description

Here is a 1969 Dodge Coronet 500. It is color code T7 Copper... Actually, I think it is called Copper Fire Metallic..with a Saddle interior. The car pictured here has just come out of a 15 year storage, The car was built in Los Angeles and Lived it's life in Bullhead City and Mesa Ariz. From what I was told it was stored in 1975..and pulled out in the middle 90s Two owners from there.. the last had multiple DUIs..and his daughter was trying to liquidate his stuff...So, we showed to view a Demon.. but in our conversation this car came up. We transported it from Ariz. I believe in 1999. It is on it's second paint and has a new Legendary Interior... We bought it with the intention of making an RT clone.. so easy to do... After we painted it and did the interior we started out quest for a RB engine...a 440 + torqueflight. During this My son announced he was no longer interested... A familiar story. So... I put it way in 2003...I pulled it out in 2005 to get MA inspection (in case he came back) then it went back to sleep.... I have started it yearly..and properly conditioned the gas. Now, the door panels are fine, the driver's armrest is in the trunk (It needs to be dyed saddle) During the storage the headrest dropped down.. I could have pulled it out, but I left it so the new owner can match the fabric. The engine started right up ... I think it it may need a fuel pump or an accellerator pump in the carb...when I crack the throttle it stumbles... I have No idea how old the fuel pump and Holley is... I suspect the Fuel pump is original to the car. If I was to keep this engine.. I would cam it up and I would have the heads done, because I don't believe they have hardened valve seats for unleaded. The paint if judged on the "international scale" of say a 10 footer.... it is i guess a 1 footer? All there chrome and stainless is there..some of that needs a little fixing and polishing. Really only the passenger rear needs the most.. they rest are completely passable.. The shifter is on the floor... It has the Big Block radiator (redone) and a new gas tank. By the way when we dropped it, the sheet metal from the bottom has factory color over spray. The Body is extremely solid ...No rust... The only rust I see... is the trunk has small surface rust... solid as a rock... I noticed it needs a few body plugs... pretty easy.... The car as far I know has not been in the rain..certainly not since we have had it......
If you are looking to build a RT clone, Restomod or even restore a 500... this is it.... You can spend 10k buying one and spend 10k repairing the body. Personally, If I am spending my money, the mechanics are where I want it to go. I know the car through out so if you have questions please ask... I am going to post new pics... when I wash it. In these pics it fresh out of storage and is all dust. Like any car like this...there is always something to do...Thank you very much! Good Luck!
