1973 DATSUN 240Z. MATCHING.100% ORIGINAL PAINT SURVIVOR. RUNS AND DRIVES WELL

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this highly original 240Z Coupe with 100% original paintwork. This car was believed to have been sold new in Southern California and then made it's way to New Mexico. The selling dealer we purchased the car from in NM discovered it under a tree, where it was parked sometime in the 1980's, probably when there was little to no resale market for this model. The car currently runs and drives well showing an original mileage of approximately 94,000.The body on this car overall is very good and straight. There's a few dings in the passenger door, a soft dent in the RH fender, and some minor gentle waves in the roof. There's some usual nicks and scrapes/chips associated with normal use/ wear and tear for a passenger car of this age. There is some slight rust through showing down low in front and around the rear wheel archs. They're all easy repairs to return the car back to a superb original-looking car.The car's interior trim could use some improvement but appears 100% original also. The dashboard has it's usual sun-baked cracks, the driver's seat needs repair. The passenger seat is near perfect. The carpet set is original. We've made up a new rear shelf piece in black loop. The headliner and visors are perfect. The door and rear 1/4 upholstery/rear shock towers looks quite decent. The center console could use replacing due to some cracking. The steering wheel and shift knob are originals. Most of the instruments are operating along with both interior lights.Mechanically, the car feels excellent. The matching numbers engine starts easily on the key and revs smoothly with no smoke and very little valve noise. The gearbox shifts well with a good clutch and the car stops with decent brakes. The car actually drives down the road very well, but could benefit from a general mechanical service, ignition tune-up/tires. The engine bay was steam cleaned and the results look excellent with shiny original bulkhead paint.Underneath, the car appears very solid and honest with only one footwell repair to the driver's toe board area. The car includes it's factory wheel chocks, lifting jack with handle, Nissan pouch, and lug wrench. The car is lacking it's spare tire.Overall, probably an unrepeatable opportunity to acquire a highly original 240 Z from 47 years ago still wearing it's 100% factory paintwork. This survivor car offered for sale here retains it's matching numbers engine, has under 100k recorded original miles, and is still mechanically excellent.
