Car description

Up for auction is a NewYorker Newport. Rare automobile. This car is being offered as is. It needs a total restoration. I believe that I am the fourth owner of this automobile. I have not done a title research. I do know the history of it the past thirty - six years. I've owned it for the past nine years. Been in storage the past twenty years. Last on the road in 1994.Car was last painted in1989. These photos are about three years old.**************** The car was well known in the central Ohio area in the early 1990s. Went to many shows and cruise-ins, inning awards and compliments. I have never driven it, rode shotgun to most of those events. ******************** The overall condition is good to fair, eeds restored. It is a very beautiful automobile when at its best.********** I myself am a body and paint person with over 40 years experience, o I'll give the best description I can.******* The body is a good solid body overall. The frame is good with some surface rust. The underneath of the body is good for its age, oes need repainted. Has surface rust that has started to appear. The underside was also painted in 1989. The previous exterior body work has started to show. Fenders are good. Doors have rust starting to show on the lower outside areas. The lower inside doorskin lips are good. Right front has a small amount on inner lip. Quarters have rust on front and rear. Outer rockers needing repair, right one worse. This is body work that was done in 1989 and is reappearing. The rear body panel and bumper filler panel need repair. Better to replace filler if available. Decklid, op, nd hood are good. Left front older collision damage was repaired pre 1989 and wasn't done correctly. Header panel needs to be reworked.*********************************************** The interior needs work. Leather seats and door panels. Carpet was replaced in 1989, s now stained and worn. Headliner needs replaced. Seats needs repaired or redone. Front has driver side wear. Rear seat is intact, ut threads are dry rotted. Padded leather dash is nice. Door panels are nice. Most interior chrome is nice.******* Steel chrome plated pieces need redone. Most of stainless trim is good, few damaged pieces. Pot metal pieces are fair for age. Pot metal pieces on top edge of doors are the most pitted. The rest of pot metal pitting is lesser. **Glass is tinted. Windshield has three chips. Other glass is good. *********************************** This car was parked in 1994 because of bad brakes. The only thing I've done is clean it up for photos. I've had it briefly running. It needs a freeze out plug replaced. ************************************************* Car has 354 Hemi. Has power brakes and steering. Leather seats. Knock off wheel covers. ***************** Mileage reads 103,889. I do not know if this is the true mileage. *************************************** AS IS. No warranty ************************************************************************** Deposit through PayPal is non refundable.****************Title will not transfer until check clears bank. **** I reserve the right to stop the auction. Car is also for sale locally. ************************************** As I said I am a bodyman. I bought this car from an estate of a close friend thinking I would redo it. I do have the the knowledge and skill to do it. I don't have the time, pace or money that it will take to properly give this Beautiful automobile what it deserves. This is not one for an amateur. There is not many of these NewYorkers left. I ask for serious bidders only.*** Questions welcomed. *** Car is available for viewing. **** Additional photos available to bidders. I have had trouble loading photos and typing this description. **Sorry ************* I have been told from a reliable source that there were 3,499 four door hardtops built in1956. If half of those have survived the past 60 years that makes this one a rare automobile. I believe the survivor number is probably less than that. I have never seen another in person or current photos. Doesn't mean this is the only one, ust means it's one of the rare ones. This automobile needs someone to give it the love it deserves. ** Call me at 740-625-7407 Doug
