Car description

Up for bids is my 1927 Chrysler model 70 Roadster. I am selling because I am being forced to move and I need to down size my collection. I have owned this car for about 7 years now and have put thousands of miles on it. It is registered and insured with a clear title in my name. Just drove it on a two hour trip this weekend to the west coast kustoms car show. Here are the details about it:Body is original all steal 1927 Chrysler model 70 roadster. Body is in excellent condition with all original body panels. Stock grill shell and radiator. The stock radiator was ground out and an aluminum one was put in and unless looking for it can't tell it's not original. The windshield stantions are stock just cut down a few inches. Has rumble seat decklid and golf door on passenger side. I made a rag top for it and the top does fold down. The headlights are from a early thirties chevy and have the wire embedded glass and use h4 bulbs. Fog lights are early Mopar with the yellow bulbs. The taillight pictured is not mine so I will be putting another one on but the other is just as cool. It's a dark red round light with a dual filament bulb. Interior is suppose to look like a real tradional hot rod. Bench seat has rips in the bottom. Has a 26 dodge dash and stewart gauges. The old chevy speedometer is not hooked up. Vintage motorcycle tach is mounted to the steering column. The pedal assembly is early ford with early ford master cylinder under floor. Vintage heater under dash not hooked up but still looks cool! The frame is the stock 27 Chrysler that has been boxed and has an x member for added strength. Newer Saginaw steering box and recenlty upgraded steering to cross steer. There is no bump steer at all. The front springs were recently replaced. The front axle is a speedway tubular 3 inch drop with ford spindles with new king pins and bushings. Has disc brakes on the front but are hidden behind an old buick drum being used as a backing plate. Has 15 inch plymouth wheels up front with dog dish caps and beauty rings. I just bought some vintage motorcycle shocks for the front but they have not come yet. The rear uses the stock springs which are still in perfect condition. The rear end is a round back ford 9 inch. It has 31 spline axles big bearing and a new 3.55 Currie locker third member. Parking brake works just needs a rod connected to the e brake handle. The rear wheels are Kelsey Hayes "strippers". They are used on Canadian Cobras from 69-72. They are magnesium and everyone just loves them. The engine is a 1948 Cadillac flathead. It has a custom 2x2 intake with two Mercury carbs on it. The stock intake was milled down and turned into an open plenum. A quarter inch aluminum plate was bolted to the top. Custom 'scavenger' style headers were made for it and sounds great! There is a remote thermostat because the Cadillacs didn't have one. The water temp was getting higher than usual during the longer drive but I am pretty sure the radiator just needs to be flushed. The motor runs very well and starts right up but there is blow-by out the oil breather and burns some oil. It could probably use a rebuild soon but luckily parts for these motors are readily available and not outrageous in price. The auction also comes with another cadillac flathead motor! I made a spacer to adapt a chevy 250 waterpump on so you can save the 300 it costs to replace the stock one. There is a chevy t5 transmission adapted to the flathead by using two adapters. The first adapter was a vintage custom made one which converts a cadillac flathead to an early ford flathead transmission. Then I got a speedway early flathead to t5 transmission. The transmission needs a little tlc because first gear will sometimes not engage. I have just been driving it out of 2nd with out even bogging the motor. Other than that the trans is fine. This is a very unique car and the only one I have ever seen. Compared to a ford there is about two feet of extra leg room which makes driving much more comfortable. The car is 100% drive able it just has the blowby issue and it running hotter than usual lately. I hate to see it go but need the room now. Being sold as isHere is a video of the car running and a walk around: http://youtu.be/1Ivkk_jslYAIf you have any questions or would like to see it please feel free to message me or text or call at 8O5 8O1 9541I am located in an Industrial park so truck pick up is easy and I will assist in any way to help ship car. This car has also appeared in numerous magazines through out its life and was raced at eagle field. The description makes it sound not drive able but it was only getting warm while sitting in traffic during rush hour.
