Car description

1925 Chevrolet Superior KTouring Car Clean NJ Title. I will be listing more cars from the same estate. 1917 Chevrolet and a 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe26 hp. 171 cu. in. overhead valve four-cylinder engine. three-speed manual transmission. semi-elliptic rear springs. 11-inch rear-wheel brakes. Wheelbase: 103" - Older restoration with lovely patina Restored in the 1980's - Same ownership since 1982 The Series K Superior Touring. such as this one. cost $525. versus a mere $290 for a Ford Model T. To counter the difference in price. Chevrolet promoted the idea that its cars really were "Superior. " The cost included an electric starter and wood-spoke wheels. Bumpers. though. were optional. Touring cars and roadsters also wore wood-spoke wheels. The new Chevy still rode on a 103-inch wheelbase but was now powered by an improved powerplant. The Chevrolet 171-cubic inch four-cylinder engine featured overhead valves and produced 26 horsepower. while the Model T's L-head four was rated at 20 horsepower. Chevy had a conventional three-speed manual transmission but updated with a new single dry plate clutch replacing the old cone clutch style. On the other hand. Ford clung to the two-speed planetary gearbox used in Model Ts since 1908. This 1925 Superior was restored sometime in the early-1980s. For the next few decades this wonderful car and its owner were a mainstay in the Antique Car Club of NJ. and it was used frequently for local parades. weddings and other events along with the other Chevy's in his collection. While it now shows a little wear. the condition is ideal for those enthusiasts who want a usable collector car with a lovely patina. Finished in light blue with black interior. this fun and very usable early Chevrolet would complement any collection of early prewar cars and could be driven as is or completely restored back to show-quality condition. The car is currently not running. I did however place a battery in the car to check to see if she would crank. Motor turns freely and lights operated. I would drain the fuel tank and change all fluids before attempting to start her. The wife of the estate claims the car was last used in 2005 and was in running condition at that time. All tires hold air. Extremely solid for her age with minor repairs over the years. See pictures for a better description. Within a weekend with fresh fuel. battery and some love this touring car could be touring again!Absolute Sale No Reserve!$500 Deposit Due At End Of Auction. Balance Within 5 Days.
