We have a photo album of the car taken apart to the bare frame and running gear. I will post a few restoration photos further down. Today. the car shows very well throughout. You can see a lot of the original bonding strips and marks on the body. It appears this is a no-hit example with one previous repaint. Although not concours perfect. this is an exceptional Corvette that can be driven and enjoyed. We have the original protect-o-plate and tank sticker. The Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum is the fitting location for many of our photos of Chevrolet low-flying fighter. the Corvette. As always. be sure to visit our friends at the Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas. Texas. The exterior showcases an older repaint of the original Code 988 Steel Cities Gray paint. There were 2. 46 Steel Cities gray Corvettes out of 27. 04 produced in 1972. We have the original tank sticker & protect-o-plate for this car. shown in some of the photos. The paint shows well and does have some flaws depicted in the photographs. Restored in 1990. the car has certainly held up well. This is a garage-kept example. You can see some of the body bonding marks in the above photo just behind the headlamp doors. in front of the hood. Open the doors to 1972. The interior features the factory-optioned deluxe option with leather seating and carpet trimmed door panels. The dash is clean and detailed. straight and intact. The original gauges are in place along with a latter Corvette inscribed AM/FM cassette stereo. The seat upholstery shows well left & right. The rear storage compartments are complimented with the T-top storage straps. We also have a set of T-top storage bags included. The auxillary vacuum controls are intact under the dash. These are commonly broken off. Under the hood is the factory-optioned 350 cubic inch 4bbl. V8 rated at 200 horsepower. This is the original engine. previously rebuilt during the restoration. The engine is dressed with correct components throughout including the breather assembly and exhaust manifolds with factory shielding. The exhaust system breathes through the correct bezels in the rear valance pan. Further inspection of the engine compartment will reveal the original firewall. inner fenders and core support. The fender panel lips are also in very good condition throughout. Check out the restoration photos. a few are posted below. Here are some photos taken during the restoration. shown above and compiled in an album. The undercarriage displays the original frame and flooring. The suspension was taken apart. detailed. painted and rebuilt. again during the past restoration effort. Today. the car drives straight down the road and is in very good condition. Please look through our detailed chassis photos. The door undersides are intact and solid. in good condition left and right. The door panels themselves are also in good condition. The wheels of choice are the factory 15-inch Rallys fitted with correct Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport F-70 series poly-bias tires all around. The body lines are great on this Corvette. The hood. wiper door assembly and doors line up well. 1972 would be the final year for chromed front bumpers on the Corvette. The bumpers have been re-chromed front & rear. The chrome shows very well as does the factory luggage rack. The original trim identification plate is intact as is the vin plate. Also. the windshield pillars are solid left and right. Again. you are welcomed and encouraged to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions. Please look through our detailed slideshow photos to see more of this Corvette.
