Car description

This listing is for my 1951 Chevy Styleline Deluxe. business mans coupe. This vehicle was purchased back in 2012 and I have been working on it since. Sadly I've run out of time money and patience and want to get rid of a couple of my projects and put some money in savings due this crappy economy. The vehicles paint and body was completely redone. Body was stripped down to the bare metal and all areas of concern were addressed with aftermarket body panels. The floors were also addressed and once the hole were welded with new panels they were sprayed with dura liner to prevent future corrosion. Additional heat guard and sound deadener was installed on the interior floors all the way to the trunk. The under carriage of the car was sprayed with undercoating also to prevent future corrosion. The door handles. hood. and the gas filler door were shaved off for a sleek look. The gas filler hose was reversed and is now inside the trunk. it also helps with haters trying to pour stuff in your gas when your not around. All of the front end rubber suspension bumpers an bushings were replaced when the vehicle was lowered. The springs for the front were custom ordered and not cut. They dropped the front about 2. 5 inches. The rear suspension was also lowered with lowering blocks on the leaf springs. All four of the shocks were also replaced when the suspension was addressed. The front and rear chrome bumpers are new. the trim pieces were polished and re installed and are in fairly decent shape. The wheel dome center caps are new as well. 3 out of the 4 trim rings are in great shape the fourth is OK with some scratches. Wiper arms are brand new. The front grille of the vehicle was replaced by a 1952 front grille because I thought it looked cooler due to the teeth in the center bar. newly re plated. The headlights. parking lights. taillights and license plate light all work and are new as well. The license plate light is the original glass lens and the housing was also re plated. Turn signals and brake lights also work properly. 15 original steel wheels painted to match. wrapped in Coker Classic wide whitewall tires with good tread. The electrical system has not been upgraded to a 12 V and is still a 6 V but it has been gone through and works great. The battery is less than 4 months old. An electrical fuel pump was also installed to better assist on cold start ups. The manual pump works fine and was also replaced during the restoration. The electrical fuel pump is only necessary during initial start up and should be turned off while driving. The engine is an inline six and drives great. It has been dressed up with chrome accents to make it look nicer than original. The radiator is original but has been refurbished and cools the engine as needed with no additional cooling fans and is cooled by the fan blade affixed to the engine. The carburetor was rebuilt recently and a new gas tank was installed when the vehicles body was being done. The car was recently driven from Miami FL. to Key Largo FL. at highway speeds for approximately 2. 5 hours. As you can see the vehicle is not a race car and is a cruiser. so If you are looking for a muscle car maybe this isn't your cup of tea. Some of us still enjoying going slow and riding low but this vehicle will definitely keep up with traffic just remember is 64 years old and I haven't seen many 64 year olds that look this beautiful. The transmission is a manual 3 speed on the tree and shifts without a problem. The interior of the car is the only eye sore and is the area that I feel is needed to complete this vehicle. The guage lights work behind the dash but the only gauge that works is the speedometer. I did restore the appearance temporarily but finding original working gauges would cost a lot more than replacing them with an aftermarket pair so they need to be changed to be in good working order. The original radio is there but doesn't work. An aftermarket IPOD compatible is available and was my intention. I have a brand new carpet (black) that will go with the car once it is sold. along with new chrome door sill plates. The front seat is currently wrapped in Mexican blankets and the back seat frame needs all new padding but is in good condition. You will definitely need to have both seats re upholstered along with the door panels. A headliner is available on ebay and is also needed. I have all of the headliner rods and interior window frames and chrome trim. one of the chrome pieces is pretty dinged up though. I have arm rests for the passenger door and drivers door but the need to be re up holstered as well. I will include a brand new pair of window cranks and a pair of interior door handles. I also have 4 brand new black seatbelts with airplane buckles that will go with the car. /p>As you can see I've addressed the good and the bad in the car and have been pretty specific as to what has been done to complete this car. I've put a lot of love into this car and will not let it go for peanuts. I appreciate good work and craftsmanship and I can wait around for a buyer who does as well. The buyer is responsible for shipping and full vehicle payment must be made thru pay pal within 48 hours of the auction closing. I also reserve the right to terminate this auction if a local buyer presents me with my asking price before the auction ends. Please message me with your questions . f any. Thank you for reading and good luck.
