1981 Chevrolet G10, Custom MTB Van Conversion- Vanlife Capable - Boogie Van -

Shes older, Lacks the bells and whistles of a modern vehicle but she will take you anywhere you want to go and give you a place to stay when you get there. and your friends will dig it!
I purchased this 1981 Chevrolet G10 Van in Omaha, NE last year. after getting it home and before beginning the interior build we went through the entire vehicle meticulously, replacing many parts and components including but not limited to: New Windshield, Complete tune up(Plugs, Wires, Cap&rotor, all fluids, filters and initial oil change to synthetic + zinc. Heater Core (upgraded to manual switch for rear heat. Shocks replaced front and rear. Front brake calipers and pads. New Crager SS wheels, and tires. New stock replacement camshaft. Carburetor rebuilt by Quadrajet expert. New Water Pump and upgraded oil pump.Interior build components include but arent limited to: size Full - 3" bed on aluminum bedframe with 12" of storage underneath Maxxair Fan with remote and thermostat. 12v cooler fridge fits under bed. Sink with 13gal tank filtered water and electric water pump. (no grey or black water tanks yet installed) sink drains through bulkhead union in floor, will accept plumbing to tanks in future. Two burner propane stove. Xantrax 2000w Pure Sine wave inverter provides 110v power to multiple outlets in rear of van for household electronics. Two X2 Power Group 31m AGM 100ah 12v deep cycle batteries(charged off alternator with smart isolator or trickle charger in storage.Havlock wool insulation. Sound deadened. 12v dimmable lighting. Fold out CD/DVD player. Mountain bike through axle mount and front tire hanger. Custom Epoxy Floor and Counter TopsThis van was designed to carry my Large Mountain bike on long road trips and can be easily adapted to carry almost any bicycle in the same position.
Oil changes in this vehicle require Zinc additive.
Gets Approx 11.6 MPG fully loaded. Must Use Premium Fuel (low to no ethanol) vehicle will run with E10 but idles poorly, remember its carbureted.
there are few cosmetic defects throughout the vehicle, currently has no floor carpeting for passenger side, small crack around one of the screws in the counter top under sink rim, surface rust on exterior of vehicle has mostly been stopped (the grey primer stripes and blocks on the passenger side)
I have driven this van more than 10,000 miles since completing the build and it has performed most reliably and defeated my expectations. if it sells it will be missed dearly but i look forward to my next build enabling me more comfortable full time vanlife.
