Car description

This 1984 Corvette may not be perfectly described as a Barn Find, perhaps more accurately a Backyard Find. It's been stored in a Southern California residential backyard for coming up on 25 years. You may notice in the photo the odometer reads 19,450. However the current mileage is less than the 19,611 listed.

I purchased the Corvette in June of 2018 as a gift for my wife. I am a Vehicle Forensics Investigator and a Certified Triple ASE Master Technician. In the end, once I spent all the time and money freshening it up, she decided it is "too nice to drive"; hence it's available for purchase.

After we purchased it I examined each portion of the car from bumper-to-bumper focusing on areas that may need attention. During this process numerous components were placed that may not have actually required replacement but because I was fixing up for my wife it was the right thing to do. As a result, I would not hesitate to let her get in it and take a trip to Vegas (without our auto club card).

Paintwork

Naturally the factory gold paint was faded and needed to be redone. If you would like to see photos of the vehicle while it was still in the backyard just let me know. I repainted it in the original color using a Professional Grade Basecoat - Clearcoat. Naturally each of the exterior emblems has been replaced.

Mechanical

As folks familiar with vehicles that have been parked for an extended period of time know; over time some parts degrade. To list all the components replaced it would take up the rest of the available Ebay text, so here's an abbreviated list:

Replaced all four of the:

· BFGoodrich Tires (and published each of the wheels)

· Disc Brake Pads

· Shock Absorbers

Other parts / components replaced include: theBrake Master Cylinder,Water Pump, Coolant, Radiator Hoses (and Serpentine Belt), Distributor Cap and Rotor, Spark Plugs, Air Filter, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter and both Headlights. All Exterior Light Bulbs (turn Signals,Tail lights etc.).Also ReplacedWere the Transmission Shift Shaft & Tail Housing Seals, as well as the Transmission Pan Gasket, Power Antenna, Engine Oil, Brake and Transmission Fluids.

Passenger Compartment

Among the items replaced within the passenger compartment were:Both Leather Perforated Seat Covers, Leather Shifter Boot, Door Panel Carpet, Door Belt Moldings, Rear Glass Weatherstrip, Center Console Trim (labels were faded), Instrument Panel / Cluster Light Bulbs, Electric Door Lock - Unlock Controls and the Headliner.

As a result it runs, drives and shifts as good as it looks.

By all means, if you are serious buyer come by and take it around the block. Numerous additional photos are availableincluding: the interior, engine compartment and undercarriage areas. I also have a CARFAX Report documenting the service mileage years etc. for the asking.
