Car description

This 1958 Chevrolet Impala represents a highly desirable model of a one-year design. This restored example has the desirable black-on-black theme, and best of all, it has what's believed to be the original big-block with tri-power on top!
This coupe was given a full restoration mid-way thought life, and when it's a labor of love by an owner, the quality becomes the true hallmark of the car. So the factory-correct Onyx Black has a deep shine. A recent machine polish really makes it pop today. But it takes more than paint to get it looking so right. Only good sheet metal will allow for a mirror black to look this good. The car is a visual delight, too, with awesome details everywhere you look. Check out the chrome grille that runs from end to end in the front of this lower, wider, longer '58 Chevy. The hardtop styling of the top-of-the-line Impala just looked fast standing still, and you can see how this first-year car really launched the now legendary nameplate. The sides had full-length chrome trim. Plus, the rear quarter panels began an outline that would seamlessly wrap around the taillights for an appearance like tailfins turned on their side - a very cool iconic touch. They even added continental kit for even more classic style. All this brightwork is essential to properly represent the '58 Impala's unique look, and all is present and shining. Even the factory stylized wheel covers and whitewalls are on this one, so you know some real time and money was spent getting this big Chevy right.
Inside is more black, but the stylists really took their time, and so there's much more going on here. The black seats receive a cool tri-tone insert that both breaks up the sea of darkness and adds distinction. The door panels are even done to match. It all has that overall look of quality that will have you rolling down all the windows on this pillar-less hardtop so that everyone can get a good view inside. And when you're out on the road, the AM/FM radio gives you proper driving tunes.
Take a good look at the engine bay. This is an era-correct powerplant that's believed to be original to the car. It received the same attention during restoration, and so it has a sharp and stock appearance. The honest-looking black air cleaner is almost hiding the factory beast within. 1958 is a very desirable year because it was the first time the big block V8 was available in passenger cars. If you were really lucky, a 348 cubic-inch motor came with the tri-power (triple two-barrel carburetor) you see here. Currently only the center carburetor is being used, it is more than ample for this type of vehicle. The powerful V8 motor made you the king of the streets, and the dual exhaust had a nice sound to back it up. It fires up readily, and the Powerglide automatic transmission (also believed to be original to this car) makes for a nice pairing. Plus, with power steering and a smooth ride, this is a true cruising hardtop.
Here's an Impala that is the perfect color outside, wonderfully authentic inside, and an unbeatable powertrain underneath it all. It's getting harder to find these single-year Impala hardtops, especially one that has been expertly prepared just the way you want it. Call now!
