Car description

1977 L82 Corvette $12,900 VIN 1Z37X7S446580

Corvette was bought from a buddy who is failing in health and we have some knowledge available to us.

This is one of only of 6,148 L82 Coupes built that year. A total of 49,213 Corvette Coupes were made that year. Has T-Tops.

The Corvette has the following options added. Power windows, Tilt and telescopic steering, AC, and it has the Gymkhana suspension but correct shocks are not in place. Air shocks were added to rear and even those are no good.

The Corvette had been in garage for 20 years when we purchased it in February. The Corvette had some previous restoration done and we have done some repairs after we purchased. The Corvette could be running driving daily driver and will require a restore for show car quality. It will require new tires and alignment to drive on roads safely.

Engine—Rebuilt 20 years ago. Corvette has a 350 engine out of a 1970 Caprice that was rebuilt 30 over to a 355 ci with 325 HP. Engine code V0624CNR. It is believed to have less than 5,000 miles on the rebuild. The original engine to Corvette is available and was running fine when removed. Previous owner wanted higher HP engine installed. Engine code VU8U6CLF.

Transmission—400 Turbo. Shifts great and fluids were bright red when purchased. No other documentation.

We have started and driven this vehicle down the road and runs very strong and shifts great. There is no smoke coming out tail pipes. Stops just fine. Carb may have to be removed and cleaned. No leaks.

Paint—original classic white paint and looks good at 10 feet but upon closer inspection paint has flaws and a few nicks in the fiber glass.

Interior—has several new interior parts. Original driver seat. New dash pad. New door panels. Have seat buns and frame for both seats but no new vinyl. New carpet. Some trim pieces are cracked. Original gauges.

Exhaust—Excellent shape and new 20 years ago. No headers and exhaust is not true dual out of engine but slots in frame are there to do so.

Frame—surface rust on frame areas but nothing rotted out. New frame to body bushings will be needed.

Brakes—front brakes have had new calipers and pads and rear brake lines installed. All rear disk brake brakes and rotors are fine. New master cylinder.

New insulation under hood, new steering wheel and fuel pump.

Things we know don’t work—Wipers, AC is locked up, Speedometer and Cruise.

Things we know car will need—new weather stripping, suspension rubber parts. The tires have flat spots from sitting for 20 wheels but show no signs of weather checking but the inside or tires have some wear. Regulator for passenger side window. Driver side window needs new motor. Shocks.

Sold as is but current owners are capable of doing additional repairs after purchase is made and work cost negotiated after the purchase.
