Car description

Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to view my listing. This gorgeous two tone Silverado Short Bed was special ordered in 1987. It was ordered in, what some might call, the most desirable combination ever offered by GM. That combination I'm referring to is the regular cab, short bed truck with the throttle body injected 5.7L 350 V8 paired to the 700R 4 speed automatic transmission. This was a one year only combination that is highly sought after these days due to itbeing the very last year for the "square body" Silverado and the first year for the fuel injection system referred to as throttle body injection or TBI. On top of that, this truck was ordered with the biggest/best motor offered on the 2wd regular cab 1500 v/r 10 series.....the infamous 5.7L 350. Most were ordered with the 305 which was available on all the previous year models, minus the TBI setup. In 1987, GM offered the 5.7L 350 on the 1500 platform which was normally reserved for the 2500+ series trucks. This factory setup made 210hp and 300lb/ftwhich was anoticeable difference over the 5.0L 305 v8 that produced only 170hp and 255lb/ft. Having only 78k original miles, this truck performs just as well asyou'd expect and having only three previous owners, this truck has been adored all of its life. It still retains all of its original paint except for a few spots that were touched up by brush, and the tail gate was repainted years ago. The body has undergone a full paint correction which involved a complete color sand, paint leveling, a full body buff, and ceramic coating. As you can see, the paint is thin on thefront cap. This is typical of all trucks of this era. The hood and both fenders have faded and thin paint that has left a beautiful original patina throughout the front of this Silverado. The rest of the paint on the body is in fairly good condition minus the inside of the bed. This truck was used to haul groceries, tools, materials, or whatever else was needed by the first owner and his son. This was a truck that they loved and enjoyed, so there are plenty of scratches inside the bed, but there are no major dings, dents, or other issues there. The bed looks as new on the bottom side though. This is acompletely rust free truck. There is absolutely no real rust to speak of anywhere that I've found on the truck. Sure, there are small amounts of surface rust found on places like the exhaust and whatnot, but there are no scabs or rot anywhere that I've found. It is as nice underneath as it is on top.
This truck has been maintainedincredibly well andwill make the next owner very happy, even if they choose to use it as a daily driver. Everything that it has ever needed has always been addressed quickly and correctly. It has a brand new AC Delcobattery on it and I just had the original heater core replaced. The a/c has been serviced and operates just as it should. The transmission has just beenserviced and shifts great. The engine has had afull tune up and the spark plugs, along with the wires have been replaced. Everything works just as its supposed to and thereisn't a thing that I know of that it currently needs. The closer you look at this Silverado, the nicer it becomes. The air cleaner tube is original anddoesn'thave any breaks or rips in it. The original carpet is clean without any stains. The original dash only has a couple of minor cracks in it and is probably the nicest original GM dash I've ever seen.......it is for sure the original one and does not have an aftermarket cover on it. The seat cover is original and is without any blemishes or rips. The steering whee, dash bezel, and other plastic bits inside are still in excellent condition. The windows roll up and down easily. All thegaugeswork as they should, and the dual tank switchworks just as its supposed to. Even the radio isoriginal and works. The metal where the radio is mounted has never been cut or bent toaccommodate an aftermarket radio which is surprising in itself.
Please take the time to view all of thepictures below. This truck runs/drives/shifts/looks great and its sure to makethe next owner very happy.
