Car description

(ATTENTION: This is a C-20 NOT a C-10! I couldn't get Ebay to list it as a C-20. I am workin on it.)

For Sale: An awesome rare original family owned 1966 Chevrolet 3/4 ton C20 Custom Fleet-side Pickup with 283ci V8 and 4 speed on the floor transmission.

This pickup has right around 95,400 original miles on it. This is an original numbers matching truck. This is not a restored truck. My father originally bought this truck new. I have had it about 10 years now after he passed away. This is an original maintained vehicle. He kept it in a building on his property and I kept it in my garage. This was his errand truck and my Home Depot runner. In 10 years i have put less than 3,000 miles on it.

It has new front tires, A new battery. The heater works. Windows role up great, clutch is still solid and engages smoothly. It just had an oil change and new filters.

I included a photo of the options list inside the glovebox. Key factory options include:

  • 4 speed manual
  • V8 engine
  • Heavy duty springs and shocks
  • RV mirrors (Original mirrors and spare tire come with it)
  • Custom group
  • Interior heater
  • Side trim moldin
  • Factory seat belts. First Chevy truckyear with them.

The seat is the original seat and material. It had a seat cover on it for years and it did a great job of preserving the material. It was painted about 15 years ago. A basic tape and spray job at the local paint shop. I have tried to keep on top of scratches, chips and scuffs. Still looks solid with original color. No high end finish that looks non factory..

He was a mechanic and added some things as you can see in the photos:

• Steering column tachometer

• 3 gauge group

• Trailer rear bumper

• Trailer brake

• Battery shut off key

• Upgraded radio and speakers under the seat. He passed when he was wiring them. I never finished the job.

• Spray in bed liner applied and tie downs.

• Tinted rear window

• Mid 1970’s hub caps

• Upgraded muffler with dual slash cut tail pipes. Not too loud but very nice rich sound.

This is a super clean working truck that runs wonderful. It starts, runs and stops excellent. It purrs like a kitten while idling smoothly under 700 rpm. I have videos to show it driving, accelerating and sitting at idle. Email and I can send them to you. I was just able to get them done before the snow hit here in the midwest.

I am selling this truck reluctantly because of my health issues. It needs to go to a new owner who can care and keep it going another 50 plus years.

What needs attention:

• The fuel gauge only goes to about 1/2 on thegauge. It works but I think the float stuck after it sat for a while at that level. It would go all the way up thegage until 2 or 3 years ago.

• It has rust as you can see behind the front wheel. I primed and painted it to help slow it down, but it should have new metal there.

• The oil pan gasket needs replaced. It leaks oil there. It has new valve cover gaskets.

• I just replaced the taillight bulbs and for some reason they are not working. They worked before. I think I may have accidentally unplugged the wiring. I may have it fixed before it ships, but just a heads up in case I do not. I think I did it pulling out the assembly as I cleaned the light housing themselves.

• As I mentioned the radio is not hooked up. I liked listening to the motor anyway,

I will include any various new parts I have for it. Not much but a few things you can use as needed. Ihave included an LMC parts catalog in case you need it.

So, what you get is a living truck that was cared for and worked on for its entire life by it's original family. It’s a true blast from the past. Not a redone show truck with all new parts. It has a wonderful history and fond memories.

I attached the NADA value sheet to show it’s value range. The price is very fair $29.995.00 firm. You will be solely responsible for delivery to your location.

I do have a local car hauler friend who uses a longflatbed vehicle trailer for dealer transports. He is very fair and reliable. He is great for regional deliveries. I can help coordinate if you need assistance. Otherwise it's up to you. I will keep it in mygarage until it's ready to ship,

The sale is final with no warranty. I have included a non refundable deposit of $500 to secure the vehicle before you make the final payoff via cash or certified check.

Send me anyquestions through Ebay and I will reply as soon as possible. Feel free to send your phone or direct email if that is easier or faster.

Thank you for your consideration. Serious inquiries only.
