1967 Corvette Stingray L79 350HP 4SPD #'s match All Docs Protect-0-Plate 2 tops

CMC is excited to have this outstanding 1967 Corvette Stingray Convertible in our inventory. the Numbers Match L-79 327 pumping out 350 Horsepower and coupled to the 4 Speed transmission, this one is a solid performer. Highly documented with original order invoice, protect-0-plate and more, this L-79 is one of a kind.

History of the Stingray L-79:

On June 10th, 1967 William Aman of Glen Head, New York, drove all the way to the far east end of Long Island to his summer home in East Hampton. We can only imagining passing by Lester Motors, a small longtime Chevrolet dealership in East Hampton. Bill, spotting this Rally Red Roadster out front, knew he had to have it. I am sure in June, with the sun shining on the red paint and its contrasting white soft top and white wall tires, it was stunning. When he approached the car, the 327/350HP v8 was mated to the 4 Speed close ratio transmission would have had to have gotten his mouth watering, and the 4:11 Positraction rear end would have gotten him at the first drive. The Stingray also came equipped with Am Fm Radio, one year only black vinyl hardtop. This information is documented from the original Protect-O-Plate and original Bill of Sale, showing that he paid $5,134.40 for this car including tax. Bill kept good records on the car starting with the first week of ownership.

In 1970, Bill moved to Denver, Colorado where he continued to enjoy the car. After six years of use, Bill noticed that the engine was getting tired. In September of 1973, he had the engine completely rebuilt. He then continued enjoying the car. We have a copy of the Colorado title documenting this move.

In 1983, Bill sold his Corvette to the second owner, Don Polson, who lived a couple of hours away in Wyoming. Don kept some notes on the car, but did not use the car much, and sold the car in 1989 to Edgar Family. The Edgar family was visiting Colorado Springs and saw the car in a local newspaper. They bought the car immediately and brought it back to California with them.

The car has remained in the Edgar family until a few years back when it was purchased by a private collector in North Carolina. The car is now looking for its next care taker to carry on this tradition.
