This Suburban was backed into a shed with the nose/left side exposed to the weather back in the 1970's in Georgia, where it sat until it was pulled out two years ago. Currently located in Wading River, NY (Long Island)
The good:
* Vehicle is complete, minus a radiator
* Has all three original seats
* Rare and desirable clamshell tailgate, no apparent rust
* Has what appears to be the original spare behind the third seat
* Body is straight as an arrow
* Sliding windows are crusty, but fully intact.
* If you're into patina, this one has it in spades
* Included with the sale is a replacement hood latch panel
* Expired Georgia registration, no title (Georgia doesn't issue titles for
vehicles this old)
The bad:
* Engine is toast and locked up, doesn't roll, RR tire flat,
* Will need to be winched onto trailer/transport.
* Rust (easily repairable) in the usual places, front floor, Driver side: Lower quarter, lower cowl, lower fender edges, Pass. side no rust-through.
* Clamshell latch is frozen, handle broke off (replacement handle and
latch come with vehicle). Clamshell glass removed to get at latch, I
have the glass, which is perfect.
