Car description

425hp L72 427ci V8 - Numbers Matching - No Expense spared restoration completed - Factory Correct Color Combination - Stunning Classic Corvette (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) Offered here is the holy... grail of classic Corvettes. The 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Coupe was the fasted production car produced in the muscle car era. From the factory, it ran the quarter mile in 12.8 seconds at 112mph with a top speed of 130mph. Those ground breaking numbers combined with the breathtaking mid-year body lines, makes this second generation Stingray one of the most desirable Corvettes of all time. This is a numbers matching L72 427ci/425hp 4-Speed car in nearly mint condition. Our client and current owner of the car owns and operates a well-know West Michigan service and restoration shop. This is his personal car and he purchased it in 2004 because it was "so right." The car is originally from Kentucky and came to Michigan in the 1990's, purchased by the owner of Caledonia Corvette. In the late 1990's, the car was given a no-expense spared frame-off restoration in Caledonia Corvette's body shop. It was painted in the original 988 Milano Maroon in a basecoat/clearcoat. At the same time, the motor and transmission were completely rebuilt and blueprinted. The car remains highly original, except for the rear gears being converted to 3.55 for an easier drive, braided brake hoses, and a Hurst Competition Plus shifter replaced the original and problematic Muncie. The seats were professionally covered in variegated OEM seat covers, which you cannot find today. The door panels are from Al Knoch Corvette interiors, one of the best in the business. The car has the original air cleaner, original carpet, original seat belts, and original date code correct steel wheels with original hubcaps with raised white letter radials that can be purchased with the car. Everything on the car works, including the power antenna and clock. The car has been thoroughly gone through by one of the best in the area and it commands every dollar of the price we are asking here.
