Car description

I purchased my Impala from a guy in Spokane, Wash. over 20 years ago. He told me he inherited it from his Grandparents who bought it new from the Chevy dealer in Spokane & only drove it to the store & around town ( They had 3 other cars ). He said they had saved all the documentation. As luck would have it, his Grandparents died in the fire that burnt down their house & all the paperwork went with it. I'm the 2nd " registered " owner. The Impala had a little over 2500 miles on it when I bought it. If I had the paperwork, the price would be higher. The DMV was no help, as their records don't go back that far.
So, the burden of proof as to how Original this Impala is goes to the car itself. Check the pics I have on here & you will see 2 of them ( one set on either side ) that show the Original torque cables that go from the " A " arm to the exhaust bracket. I've never talked to anyone at car shows or Chevy dealerships that have ever seen them on a car before. When I got ahold of an old timer at GM, he told me they came stock on all V8 equipped Impalas, but most people take them off for one reason or another. There are also pics of the numbers on the heads & block. But the best proof of the actual mileage came from the Mechanic who rebuilt the engine ( I didn't want to take a chance on how many actual miles there were on the engine when I started restoring her, although she was running great ). He told me there was absolutely no ring ridge whatsoever & there would have been if the car was at 125,000 miles or more.

Why am I selling: I'm 71 yrs. old, living on Social Security & I know I can't finish what I started. Tough thing to admit.

Rebuilt 283 cu. in. V, new pistons, rings, bearings, cam & HILift Johnson lifters, fuel pump, water pump, rocker arms, push rods, head bolts, lock nuts. New dual exhaust & much more all with less than 500 miles on them. Transmission & differential are untouched Original, except for fluids & filter as recommended. Car drives very nice.
New Aluminum Radiator & electric cooling fan ( Original radiator is boxed & comes with the car ), Interior has new Upholstery, front & back seats & New Carpet. Everything else ( Door panels, headliner, handles are all Original. I repainted the dash. It was scratched up.
I have all the exterior emblems & moldings that you need to put it back to Original & most of them are New. Door handles, mirrors, trunk molding, cove molding, wheel well molding, --- AND A FULL SET OF ROCKER PANEL MOLDING ( Goes on bottom of car from the back of the front wheel well to the rear bumper ) The reason I put that in capital letters is extremely important ! The last time I saw the complete set of Rocker Panel Moldings ( check pics of molding ) for sale, they cost $1,000 !! Today, you can't find them -- go ahead & try & why'll you're at it, check the prices on the rest of the exterior moldings. Have some fun.

All the tail light assembly's are New. New front & Rear bumpers ( Original ones come with car ). Grill is Original, but 1st owner had an Alarm installed & the idiot who did it drilled a hole in the grill for the on/off lock. I removed it & put a Chevy cross flag emblem over the hole. Couldn't afford a new grill. Front & rear brakes are all new.
New trunk liner & New under hood padding.
Original hub caps in pretty fair condition ( Check pics ) & I have some extra ones that go with car.
I have all the paint & Primer/ Surfacer to put it back to it's Original color. Still has some body work that needs to be finished & there is some water leak into trunk that I can't locate. I was told it might be rust under the rear window molding, but that's out of my pay grade, so I just keep it out of the rain.

Simply put -- it is almost impossible to find a 1965 Impala today that is this Original.
Vehicle is sold AS-IS condition with no implied warrantees & is the buyers responsibility to inspect vehicle prior to purchase.

I don't mean to be rude, but, I have already had people emailing me asking if I'll accept $6,500 for this car. I don't know if they're serious offers or not, so let me try & put things in perspective for the next person who asks : Yes -- I'll accept your $6,500 offer for the " CAR " only. Which means that I keep all the new exterior parts that I have already purchased, including Tail light set, front & rear bumpers, emblem, moldings, lettering & all the rest. You can have the old bumpers ( re-chroming them costs more than buying new ones ) .FYI -- I have checked todays prices for replacing all the parts I'm keeping & they total $2,662 --- AND --- that doesn't include the new Rocker Molding Set that was last seen @ $1,000. That set is no longer available & if it was, it will go for OVER $1,000. So, if you found a set, the total is still, at the very least $3,662 !!
