Car description

1970 El Camino-L48 for sale. This is an Arizona truck that I've owned for over 20 years. It is a rust free vehicle with new paint and driveline. VIN 136800L204576. Please check at Hagerty/valuation tools.com to use their calculator. This vehicle has original book and protect-o-plate. This vehicle is an L-48 which means that from the factory it was 350 cubic inch, 300 horsepower, Muncie M-20 four (4) speed, and twelve (12) bolt Positraction rear end.

Paint and Body: this is a very clean truck with custom Z-28 style hood and new base coat-clear-coat paint using high quality materials including DC-92 clear. The prep and paint was done by Manuel Lara an accomplished painter with over a dozen years of experience. Truck was painted and three (3) coats of clear were used. Vehicle was color sanded and buffed to a very high gloss.

Engine and Transmission: This is a 350 cubic inch that has been bored to +.030 with high quality work and parts. This engine is a correct casting number, and date code for the vehicle. Engine has been built by NAPA Yuma, AZ where experienced Automotive Technicians have bored, honed and balanced to our satisfaction. Engine uses correct harmonic balancer (8 in.) and correct flywheel (11 in.) It has many upgrades including Racing Head Service Aluminum Heads, Sanderson Headers, Edelbrock Air-Gap intake, 650 C.F.M. carb with electric choke, Comp Cams camshaft, lifters, pushrods, and full roller rockers. This engine has a High Energy Ignition with Davis Unified Ignition "Cross-fire" cap to align wires correctly without overlap, and MSD 8mm wires, and gear reduction style starter. This engine is new and is properly broken in using recommended Comp Cam break-in lubricants. Recently, a Moroso seven (7) quart oil pan was added. The transmission is a Muncie four speed, M-20.

This transmission has been completely rebuilt by an ASE certified auto technician. A complete rebuild kit was used including front and mid-plate bearings, and internal parts such as small bearings in countershaft and steel speedometer gear. Speedometer has the correct color plastic insert gear, and is accurate. Transmission is original to vehicle as is noted by production stamp. Shifter is original Hurst that has been rebuilt by their company. The 11" flywheel has been resurfaced, new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing used. Z-gate parts are all new, to include return springs and pivots. Polished aluminum bell housing received a new adjustable fork pivot ball to assure that bell housing/flywheel deck heights were correct. Transmission functions as new.

Rear-end: this is a factory original to this vehicle, twelve (12) bolt positraction 3.31/ 1 rear differential. New rear pinion seal and housing gaskets were installed as well and Chevrolet Positraction conditioner fluid.

Exhaust: Sanderson coated short headers, Flowmaster mufflers, crossover mid pipe, Camero style front/rear connectors, full length system with 2.25" exhaust pipes.

Wheels and tires: Mickey Thompson tires, with very few miles and steel Rally style wheels.

Steering: Factory power steering, new rag joint, custom wood steering wheel. New column turn signal internals and turn signal cancel. The horn works!

Lighting: All lights work as they should, high beam, low beam, turn signals, four way flashers and back up lites. Windshield wipers are two (2) speed and function correctly. New 140 AMP chrome alternator.

Trim: the trim is in generally good condition with some scratches or small dents. New ignition switch and key cylinder. New glove box cylinder and key. New carpet and rear kick panels (behind the seat). New dash pad. Restored inside rear-view mirror (re-silver).

Air conditioning/heating: The A.C. is Vintage Air. It works very well and is on the cold side on low fan according to thermometers designed to check automotive A.C. efficiency. Around 40 degrees. The heater is not currently operative since there are no longer heater hoses on this truck. The heater has worked previously and could be refitted with hoses.

Radio: This truck has a Sony BT31PW, with Bluetooth. Two speakers are mounted in front kick panels

Drive-ability: This truck has been serviced to include front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, shocks, springs, bushings for anti-sway-bar. It drives and handles very nice.
