Rarely seen around here lately have been Depression-era Chevrolet pickup trucks. We at MotoeXotica Classic Cars decided to change that slightly. We are pleased to offer this nicely restored 1936 Chevrolet Master FB Half-ton Pickup.

This truck underwent a complete restoration years ago then spent 10 years as part of a private museum collection. The truck's former owner bought it in 2012 and he took loving care of the truck, treating it to a temperature-controlled environment and drove it in a few parades.

Finished in Swift Red over black is in overall excellent shape with just a few minor blemishes visible, such as on the back of the driver's side headlight. The glass is in great condition, clear and crack-free while the truck's lights, including the optional tail lights, look great. Overall, the bodywork on this hauler is straight, including the passenger side-mounted spare tire. The engine bay is tidy, the bumpers fit well to the truck's body and the cargo area, with its dark wooden bed, looks great.

This truck rolls on wide whitewall bias-ply tires. Each tire surrounds a red vented wheel with a chrome center cap. Note this truck only has a windshield wiper on the driver's side, as was typical during the mid-1930s.

Under the vee-shaped hood is understood 207 CID straight six-cylinder engine. Backing up this six-pot mill is a three-speed manual transmission. This marked the first year for four-wheel hydraulic brakes.

Inside, the truck's black bench seat is in great shape. There's no carpet as these were very utilitarian vehicles back then with none of the luxury trappings found in today's trucks. The black headliner is in better-than-decent shape, as is the three-spoke steering wheel and wipers are inop. The black metal inner door panels and dashboard are all in very good order. The shift lever is in good order. There is no audio unit in this truck.

Chevy began 1936 with its trucks little changed from the previous year. One new interior feature was an instrument panel that mirrored those found in the passenger cars. All '36 Chevy trucks carried horizontal hood louvers instead of the vertical ones found in 1935.

Competition to this Chevrolet in 1936 included Dodge's H-series truck, GMC's T-14 truck and Ford's Model 67 pickup.
