And while we love ANY Corvette. no matter what the owner's intentions. we can definitely understand that mindset. For purists. the only way to fully appreciate a vintage car is to experience it as it was originally designed. And that's why we're happy to see classics like this numbers-matching C3 continue to roll through our showroom. Born in 1969. decked in correct LeMans Blue and still churning an original. tri-power 427. this fully sorted drop-top is the kind of car that you simply buy. maintain and build equity in. So. if you're one of those cross-flag purists who likes to live the vintage car life to its fullest. this NCRS-documented Vette is the undiluted classic you've been dreaming of!BODYWORK/TRIMAuthenticated by an official NCRS Shipping Report. this Corvette rolled off GM's St. Louis assembly line on April 7th. 1969. Take a close look at the car's body and you'll find smooth fiberglass that was stripped. sanded and fully restored to exactly how it hit the showroom floor. Naturally. that resin is straight and clean from any angle. as great care was taken to ensure tight fit and finish. On top of that first class alignment. correct LeMans Blue base glistens under a modern clearcoat shine. That dynamic clearcoat was accented with clean trim. silver heat extractors. a small luggage rack and a bright white vinyl top. And the result is a serious competition Corvette. which sets a very high standard for any other sports cars that dare show their faces at the cruise-in!ENGINEBeneath the sculpted hood you'll find the car's original "3963512" branded L68 (LQ) V8 which was cast on March © 11th. (11) 1969 (9). assembled in Tonawanda. New York (T) on March (03) 21st. (21) 1969 and stamped with a matching partial VIN. Straight from the factory. this beefy big block utilized Chevy's storied Tri-power technology to twist stout 10. 25 to 1 compression into an even 400 horsepower! At the peak of the pavement-scorching mill. a polished and decaled air cleaner swirls wind into a familiar Winters intake via three era-correct Holleys. At the sides of that intake. correct cast iron heads hang stamped and polished valve covers above cast iron exhaust manifolds. And at the back of those heads. a chrome-capped ignition system sequences spark through sleeved plug wires. When fired. the infamous 427 rumbles like an old school stoplight slayer. Its ancillary components are top notch in every way. with GM-branded hoses and a rust-free master cylinder accompanying reproduction tower clamps and an old school Harrison overflow tank. And even Chevy Orange engine skin is seated in a clean. Satin Black frame. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSIONPeer under this low-slung roadster and you'll find a pristine chassis that's straight. solid and ready for its close-up. The car's hot 427 twists torque through an original Muncie 4-speed. which hangs a Muncie (P) M20 (A) assembled on March (C ) 6th. (06) 1969 build stamp between a correct 3925660 casting number and matching partial VIN. Beneath that drivetrain. a fully rebuilt suspension combines optional power steering with tight turns and increased grip. In the middle of the car. an aluminized. true-dual exhaust system pipes spent gases through rear-mounted mufflers and polished stainless tips. At the corners of the car. 4-wheel disc brakes ensure quick. drama-free stops. And all that fully sorted hardware rolls on handsome rally wheels. which spin fresh 215/70R15 BF Goodrich Silvertown Radial redlines around dent-free trim rings and turbine center caps. INTERIORSlip in to this Stingray's correct Bright Blue interior and settle on one of its supple leather buckets. Those seats are as original. with the exception of their upgraded hides. The carpet below them was replaced. even in the cargo area. where you'll find a surprising amount of storage space. The door panels at the edges of that carpet are. like the rest of the car's side panels. virtually new in every way. There's a fresh center console that accommodates a small shifter. cool wheel-style heater controls and a correct Delco AM/FM radio. From the driver's seat. a 3-spoke steering wheel laps a set of factory gauges that keeps tabs on speed. revs. oil. amps. temp. fuel and time. And all that hardware unites to create a simple. comfortable cockpit that's befitting of a performance oriented brand like Corvette. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATIONAn album of restoration photosThe aforementioned NCRS Shipping ReportAs the value of third generation Corvettes continues to grow. well optioned. numbers-matching cars like this LeMans Blue drop-top will become serious investment pieces. With a strong color combination. an original drivetrain and great aesthetics. this C3 is not only a fun car to own. but also a great example of the brand's evolution.
