Car description

1972 Chevy 4x4 Short bed Cheyenne Pickup truck. This truck is a real short bed 4x4, NOT a cut down long bed truck. It has the original glove box sticker that proves it. The sticker states model KE10734, which decodes to a 4x4 shortbed fleetside. It was originally blue with a rare manual 4 speed shifter. I am not sure if it is an original Cheyenne or if that trim was added later. The glove box vin matches the clean and clear title in my name and also matches the vin number on the frame. Unfortunately the drivers door pillar tag was removed years ago for a re-paint by a previous owner and was misplaced and never reinstalled. The truck has been upgraded to ¾ ton suspension and has a 14 bolt rear end. The conversion was not completed, and it needs the emergency brake cables and front driveshaft installed. I have an original front driveshaft for it that needs rebuilt and installed. I believe the transmission and transfer case are the originals. The truck shifts well but I have not tested the transfer case or the front differential as there is no driveshaft installed. I was told they both are in good shape. The previous owner told me the motor is not the original but I never checked. I was told it has under 10,000 miles on it and it starts right up, idles perfect, and runs very well. It has MSD ignition and it looks to have been rebuilt. The power steering does leak out but I have another original pump for it. The tires appear to be somewhat older. The body is in pretty good shape for these trucks but does need some work. The rockers were replaced at some point but not finished. Cab corners appear to be in great shape and original. The passenger side front cab support looks like it was re-done but not very well. The other three cab supports look pretty decent but may need some work. There is some rust through in one of the bed braces, the front one. I have only driven the truck about 30 miles as I bought the truck to do a complete restoration. Unfortunately a family matter has come up and I am regrettably selling my truck. Overall, it is a great truck for restoration that runs and drives well. Very hard to find an original 4x4 short bed anymore. I am listing the truck at NO RESERVE. The truck will sell to the highest bidder. Please only serious bidders, bid to win. A $750 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours to ensure serious bidders. Please ask all questions and look at all photos before bidding. I have over 150 pictures on my photobucket page.
