1982 Chevrolet Conquista El Camino..full mechanical restoration..rust free!

For sale is a 1982 El Camino Conquista.....this is a California high desert car that has absolutely no rust, has never been hit, has the original paint and was so clean that when we sanded the floors underneath between the frame rails in preparation for paint, we only had to use 120 grit sand paper by hand to prepare it for Zolatone paint...it had been driven only 86K miles in the 32 years before it came to us...yes, that is less than 3K miles per year! before we changed our plans and decided to purchase a larger truck, we wanted to build a "brand new 82" to use for our work with homeless veterans and other needy people who live on the streets..now someone else is going to own a fully mechanically restored elky with a brand new interior and all the options... for a price that is only slightly more than many other types of vehicle projects sell for that need this expensive and time-consuming full restoration
The entire chassis and under body areas have all been highly detailed and painted.....all front suspension, power steering, front disc brake system components are all brand new...new close ratio steering box, new dropped front spindles, all new bushings, everything painted and replaced.
Under the hood, the 305 motor was rebuilt by the previous owner and has under 8K miles....the original 200 metric auto trans was working great but we replaced it with a new (rebuilt) 200 R to have the overdrive....the entire A/C system is brand new..all components, including the compressor, receiver dryer, lines, hoses...the new custom aluminum radiator is cooled by dual thermo controlled fans in shroud....new Master cylinder, alternator, carburetor, water pump, fuel pump, belts, hoses...motor and trans perform perfectly
The interior is all new and includes all new wiring to the Dakota Digital Gauges,,,new Am/Fm?CD 4 speaker sound system...new dash cap, carpeting, headliner and a beautifully stitched bench seat
The body is extremely straight, rust free, bondo free, barely a ding in any of the Conquista stainless and aluminum trim,,,not even a door ding from 30 + years of use... a brand new steel cowl induction hood...we have the nearly flawless original if you would prefer it
Rear end is totally rebuil, as well as new rear brakes, new windshield, new power window and power door lock motors
We built this vehicle to raise funds for our ministry for homeless veterans, orphans and disadvantaged children...there is nothing for the buyer to do but decide whether you want to drive it as is or paint it...we decided that with poor weather approaching, it made sense to sell it now, so we can purchase jackets, sweaters, sleeping bags, raincoats, backpacks and other items of need..that way the buyer can choose what color to paint, how much to spend or enjoy as is...we would have to spend that additional time and funds and then try to recover what we spent with a higher final price
