40th Anniversary Edition Corvette Convertible- 12,500 Original Miles

Now here's a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Chevrolet collector- a low mileage original 40th Anniversary Corvette convertible from the collection of the designer who created it.
Blaine Jenkins was a Chevrolet Interior Designer and Studio Chief whose projects, over his long career with General Motors include interior for the original Mako Shark show car, the production Corvair Monza, the 1963 Corvette, the 1967 Toronado, the 1972 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency and countless more. His very last project before retirement was the creation of the Special Edition 40th Anniversary Corvette for the 1993 model year. He chose the special Ruby Red exterior paint and matching leather, and a ruby convertible top and laid out the special details such as the 40th Anniversary badging and embroidery.
And he must have liked how it turned out, because he bought one for his own private collection. He purchased this car in 2006 with only 6667 miles on the odometer. He gave it a major service and replaced the tires at that time, and just about doubled the mileage on the car before a back injury forced him to give up driving in 2009. While Blaine still enjoyed riding in the car, it accumulated miles much more slowly after that.
Blaine passed away in the summer of 2014 and now, with just 12,599 miles on the odometer, it's time to find it a new home.
The car has been 100% garaged and looks immaculate inside and out. The engine bay looks as new. Even the front suspension looks new. The tires (correct Goodyear 255/45ZR17 front and 285/40ZR17 rear) have nearly full tread. It drives like a new car. The paint is excellent with a deep gloss and shows no signs of refinish. The soft trim inside has no fading, and the ruby red leather has only minimal creasing from use. The ruby top is excellent. Everything works as intended including the ice cold a/c. The only wear visible is on the upper door glass to top weatherstripping which is easily replaced.
While no car nearing 25 years of age is perfect, this one is about as nice as you're going to find. We've priced it fairly for its condition and mileage and it is seriously for sale.
