Car description

Read the front license plate... Yes, this 1960 Chevrolet Corvette roadster is a true SURVIVOR. So if you're a Corvette fan, you know the amazing amount of care in everything paint, motor, interior, etc that has to go into this car's life to get this rare award. But more than just a survivor, you want a '60 because this is when the V8 power and first generation styling really came together in one of the coolest packages around.
For a lot of us, the 1960 Corvette is the one to own. Four headlights up front, and the curvaceous rear end with a hint of tailfin. It loses the awkward styling touches like the ribbed hood, and fussy details of previous years, but it keeps desirable features like the wraparound chrome bumpers and the full trunk. While a red Corvette is beautiful, we do see plenty of them. Instead, this one is bold with its Tuxedo Black and Sateen Silver inserts. And this car has been exactly that way since it left the St. Louis factory. That's what earning SURVIVOR status is all about. Many cars try for this award, but this roadster joined a very elite circle when it was certified in 2010. It has not been modified significantly since the day it left GM's doors right down to the spare tire. And by choosing preservation over restoration, it serves has a historical signpost for other Corvettes to compare.
While this one comes with a white soft top that matches the whitewall tires, and a black hardtop to give your classic C1 a curvy-coupe-like presentation, we really know that your favorite days will be the ones with the top off. Red interiors always look amazing on black cars, and the Corvette also just seems to get that right. The black waterfall in-between the bucket seats creates a perfectly blended package. The full gauges are in beautiful condition, which is great in such an original car. While the big speedometer is always nice, we love seeing a functioning tachometer on a manual transmission car like this one. The steering wheel looks awesome in red as well, and its ridges have that great thin, grippy feel that only came on the right cars of this era. It's this kind of feeling from behind the wheel that we know you won't be able to resist adding a few extra miles to the odometer. After all, a Corvette was meant to be driven. So when you do go out cruising, you'll be happy to have all the right original features working like the Wonderbar AM radio and the heater that helps you enjoy this roadster on a crisp fall Sunday drive.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 283 cubic-inch V8. After all, you can't be a survivor without the original motor. When you inspect the engine bay, you'll see all the right elements that you love. This includes the large original chrome air topper, matching distributor shield, ram's horn exhaust manifolds, and the Corvette-script cursive valve covers. This one came from the factory with the optional dual Carter four-barrel carburetors, and they're still in place to give this V8 an extra wallop of power. A survivor car does not mean one that's been neglected from the correct maintenance. Belts, hoses, batteries, and other items that cannot stand up for six decades have been replaced. So while this car's low mileage remains significant (averaging only around 1,100 miles annually,) there's nothing stopping you from hopping in, twisting the key, rowing through the three-speed, and enjoying the full first-generation Corvette experience.
Complete with title documentation and the Bloomington Gold SURVIVOR paperwork, this significant C1 Corvette is looking for someone to write the next chapter of its history. Will it be you? Call today!!!
