The ’66 Corvette was little changed stylistically from the ’65. However, there was a significant change under the hood. And that change came in the form of cubic inches . . . more cubic inches! The 396ci big block introduced in ’65, grew to 427ci in ’66. The 427 was offered in to flavors; the L36 390hp with hydraulic lifters and L72 450hp (ch...anged to 425hp shortly after its introduction) with mechanical lifters. Both offered great power and performance. It’s just that the L72 was Grizzly Bear of the two choices! But, whatever your choice, the big block offered tremendous back for your buck back in ’66 and still does today!
The beautiful example presented here if equipped with the Grizzly L72 (N.O.M.) and has been treated to an extensive, frame off, show quality restoration that included a color change from Yellow to Red. The car features side exhaust, leather seats, power steering, radio delete (the sound of that big block is entertaining enough! Who needs a radio?) and knock off wheels with radial tires.
