This 1976 Corvette is a nice find and a true original survivor type of car. Local car sold new in Joplin Missouri at R & S Chevrolet. Niceoriginal classic corvette color combination just like the original 1953 models. Good solid original body with all of the original interiorand most of its original paint. There has been some places touched up and spotted in and still does look good for the age of the car. Thefront and rear bumpers are the original urethane ones with plenty of flex and no cracking that I am aware of. Hood alignment, door fit,and bumper fit is about as good as they come for original. All of the paint on the door jamb areas are original and you can still see howsloppy the factory glue was put on to hold the weatherstripping. All decals and labels still intact on drivers side door jamb. All of the windowglass is original to the car in excellent shape. I did replace the wiper blades with correct repo ones but did save the originals. The T-Tops do fitgood as well but do have a few nicks and chips from removing them over the years. All of the stainless trim around the windshield is in excellentas well. We did replace the tail lights as they were showing some aging. Overall a nice presentable car that truly is an original one with real milesand drives out like a new one as well.Interior on the car is very nice and all original. The carpet, leather seats, dash assembly, trim, and door panels are excellent. The dash pad has nocracks nor ever any signs of repairs. All gauges look fresh and no aging on the needles and faces of them. The steering wheel looks new but is original. There is no wear on the steering wheel from your hands sliding around it as a higher mileage car would have. The center console is still excellent andall of the inner trim panels. The carpeting has no holes or really any signs of wear. The radio and all instruments are original. The jack and lug wrench are still intact along with the tray that is removable. Seat belts still are in great shape. Even the original label is still on the drivers side sunvisor showingthe catalytic converter information. The door panels are in great shape as well with a small crack on drivers side where you would rest your elbow but nothing serious that would need attention or repair right away. The engine compartment is clean with many of the original labels still visible. We did remove the valve covers and install new gaskets. The engine is matching numbers and is the original one to the car. As far as the chassis it is clean and presentable as well. No undercoating or painting over the years. No rot or rust on the frame. Nice and smooth with little to no pitting. The spare tire compartment is excellent with the original spare tire and wheel intact along with the original spare tire carrier lock. All of the exhaust system is original along with the original catalytic converter still underneath as most all of these have been removed. The wheels are the original date coded Rally ones and in great shape with the original trim rings and center caps all in excellent shape. The tires all match with plenty of tread and are Uniroyal brand. We have driven the car about 150 miles and does drive out like a 17,000 mile car should. Steering is nice and tight. We did change the rear end grease and the car has been recently serviced. You do have to realize that these are still old cars and anything can happen, but after driving this car I believe you could take it on a tripif desired. Great car to cruise and with the many options and features it has makes it comfortable to drive.

Key 1976 Highlights:
1976 was the last year to see the "Stingray" badging on a corvette until 2014. The carburetor air induction system was revised in 1976. Previously, air was drawn in at the rear of the hood, producing a slight howl audible from within the car. The air source point was moved forward, so that air was pulled in over the radiator. The 1976 hood was unique to the year.Engineers put a partial steel underbelly in the forward section of Corvettes starting in 1976 for added rigidity, weight reduction, and to better isolate the cockpit from heat generated by catalytic converters. Also, higher engine temperatures were intentional, one way to increase efficiency and partially offset emissions-related power losses.Astro Ventilation was eliminated starting with 1976 models. This meant, among other things, that vents on the rear deck (just aft of the back window) were deleted.A new "sport" steering wheel for 1976 Corvettes introduced.Classic White was the # 1 color in 1976.
This Corvette was built on Tuesday April 13th, 1976.This was the 30,347th corvette built in 1976 out of 46,558 total produced.Original list price of this corvette was $9,237.85This corvette was originally ordered out on March 18th, 1976 and the original owner took delivery on April 17th, 1976.
