Car description

A Lettered Rat Rod Patina Logo Chevy C10 1/2 Ton 4 speed 12 Bolt Rear Axle Truck-- with a very interesting History! Sorry. I write a lot so a serious buyer can make a decision to Buy It Now! The original owner--see pic driving it on my trailer--used this cool lettered logoed truck with the coolest full bed side mural on both sides for over 30 years as his shop truck. He was trained in the Navy to do prototype pipes for submarines. taught himself mufflers in a road trip emergency. got hired at a muffler shop when they saw his work and just retired at age 73 as owner of Do Rite Mufflers and Brakes--now Do Rite Automotive in Auburn/Kent WA. A great man. a great business. a great Chevy Truck!Just a short while ago--I do not know when--he put a remanufactured and redesigned 307 V8 with 305 Heads to increase compression--the owner stated it was a Marine engine when built--I will add the compression check numbers as soon as I take them--and it runs very strong--NO SMOKE OF ANY KIND. RUNS LIKE NEW--the cam has just a little shake and I do believe it is a marine cam as it really digs in. tops out quick and cruises easily at highway speeds. So. this is not a drag truck--it is a hauler. tower. mover. work truck that is fun to drive with the 4 speed. It has two short glass pack mufflers the owner installed himself that growl. I rebuilt the Quadrajet--I am a recently retired Auto Shop teacher in the local area with over 30 years experience with GM and other carbs. For those of you that want to know this one is set up as follows:Jets: 73Primary Rods: 41KSecondary Rods: CNFloat: 12/32Power Valve Adjustment (I added this feature): 3. 5 from bottom--you can adjust it!Initial Timing is 4 BTDC--Total Advance is about 28 and all in quick. Wired battery voltage through a relay on the firewall--see red wires in pic and used the key switched 12 volt (used yellow wire to turn ON the relay)--Chevy Trick for proper HEI voltage--and also explains the reason for 73 jets--more spark means it runs stronger and need more fuel--I also installed proper Autolite 26 HEI Platinum plugs that DUI distributors recommend--not plugs for points distributors that burn out quickly and have smaller spark. RUNS GREAT. STARTS COLD. TAP PEDAL AND GO!CHECK OUT THE COLLECTOR AND VERY CUSTOM CLIFF ANDERSON CLEANER LID! YES. IT SAYS 350. BUT ALL 307 AND 305 ENGINES WANT TO BE 350 WHEN THEY GROW UP! THE ROSE COLORED PIN STRIPES MATCH THE BODY PIN STRIPES---Rust: It needs cab corners. rockers. and cab supports on passenger side at least and some flooring--what I can see is drivers right by the rocker. It needs a passenger inner fender due to 30 years of battery acid dripping down. The bed on the front driver's side has a small hole starting. Radio and Heater do not work--looks like a new heat core and radiator. probably when they did the engine. not sure. Just put in fresh coolant. new hoses. new battery wires. nbsp;--Wipers. Lights all work. Tires good. spare is old snow tire. but has factory hanger. Brakes are good. drum NOT disk--they need adjustment. Good shocks. Drives straight. but feels a little loose. The engine started leaking some oil after driving a few days--the seals were dry after sitting so long--I put in Bar's Rear Main Seal Stop Leak and this usually works in about 200 miles--but you may have to replace the pan and front cover gaskets and the rear main seal to stop all the oil? Small Block Chevy Standard Operating Procedure. There is a little noise from the u-joint. driveline. or transmission/mount area--the truck has not been on a rack yet for a check and see. OK. guys I just got this out the weeds. washed it with Dawn and a sponge to get the mold off it. IT HAS PATINA. Please email with any questions and picture requests--PLEASE READ THE TERMS:TERMS: PAY PAL DEPOSIT OF $500. 00 WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION CLOSE. nbsp;BALANCE BY ELECTRONIC TRANSFER FROM YOUR BANK TO MINE--I WILL GIVE THE BUYER MY ROUTING NUMBERS.
