Issues:

  • Power Mirror Switch L-R control works backwards. This is a wiring issue inside the mirror housings not being compatible with the Mazda Control. A bit annoying but once you know it you get used to it.

  • Power Door Locks = Pass Side switch will lock and unlock both doors. Drivers side will only lock. I have chased this issue for hours and cannot resolve. May be a grounding issue.

  • Factory Theft System Disabled /Disconnected and inoperable.

  • Paint – looks great from 10 feet, some spider cracks in hood, on small area on rear bumper buffed through to original paint but very hard to notice. Front right corner of hood was repainted due to chipping of paint when hood was re-installed after engine swap. Did not blend in perfect, I know its there but have to point it out to others.

  • Sometimes low beams do not come on when switch is pulled out. Have to click high beams on and off and then lows come on. May be a problem with “NOS” Delco switch.

This is a Fun Car to Drive, its loud, idles rough due to the cam grind but settles down nice at cruising speeds on the road.

The torque is incredible and takes a bit getting used to working the clutch at launch without smoking the 12” rear tires. Steering is very quick with some pronounced oversteer which will take some practice to get used to. I set this up to autocross but never made it to an event. Handles and tracks great.

This is a great weekend cruiser, runs out great on the road and pulls hard from 60 to ??. If you want to drag race this car you will need to swap out the rear gears as the stock gears are for cruising and for better gas mileage. Don’t ask me what gas mileage it gets, I never checked i, it don’t matter . If your worried about that go buy a Prius.

It is still plenty quick off the line and has a lot of legs on the road. Would do very well at Autocross with the strong torque and quick steering.

I have enjoyed building this car and driving it in finished state for the past year. I have bought another Toy and need to move on to that. Feel free to ask any questions that I may have not answered above.
