Car description

You are looking at a very nice rare Chevrolet Corvette, no its not a Callaway, but its great looking '87 corvette in the second rarest color of 1987. I bought this car two years ago because I liked the rare two tone white exterior+ silver (rpo-40u/13L), and only 195 corvettes '87 corvettes were produced in this color combo, and its Original Paint!!

I am not a dealer, but I have been a C4 Corvette enthusiast/collector for over 20 years. Since the C4 corvettes have basically hit rock bottom in price in the last few years, there are a lot of people that I have noticed lately (especially dealerships) that know very little about C4's, especially the early ones, so know your C4's before you buy. Look up the facts, and feel free to verify my description and facts on this car.

For you C4 lovers out there that know your corvettes, I don't need to go into detail about the improvements the '87 corvette offered from the previous year. I will say this. I also have a late '86 coupe with aluminum heads, (Chevrolet didn't put aluminum heads on coupes until around January '86), and '86 was the last year for the stiffer suspension Z-51 suspension with an automatic. In '87, the Z-52 suspension made its debut, and that replaced the Z-51 option with automatic tranny. This '87 is equipped with the Z-52 sport handling package, and it handles just as well as my '86, but with a softer ride. The hydraulic roller lifters also brought the horsepower up to 240, from the aluminum head '86 that had 235 and you can tell a difference in power, and the engine is a little quieter. The base gray leather interior with the two-tone white/silver exterior is a very nice color combination. The paint is almost flawless, and the interior is free of cracks and fading. There is some minor dry rot on the window weather stripping (see photo), This is the only flaws I have seen on all the weather stripping.

From the way the car drives and looks and the year of the vehicle, the car has been garage kept, in which it has been in the garage under a cover since I have owned it. There are no reported manufacturer's defects on this vehicle.A never-smoked-in before beauty that looks great and smells clean.

The engine is very strong and provides the power you have come to expect from a sports coupe and runs extra smooth. The transmission shifts smooth but firm, and there are no known issues or leaks

The A/C works well and blows cold air! Dash Lights are bright with no issues.

Under the clamshell is clean, and free of any leaks, although I would replace the valve covers if I was going to show the car. The passenger side valve cover shows some chipping and oxidation.

The power locks, windows and doors all work and are in good condition. All the power controls and buttons work.
The car also comes with nice R245/Z45/16 sport tires have plenty of tread life left and I have receipts showing they were new at 52k miles.

As far as I can tell, this '87 came with every available option except for the rpo-C2L two top option, and the sport seats. It does have the blue tinted factory glass targa, and it's almost in flawless condition. The factory glass sticker that was on them when the car was new is inside the console on the rpo sticker.

Everything inside the car works as its should. Wipers, digital dash, horn, alarm system, electronic heat and air controls, mirrors, power seat, etc.

It even has the dealer in stalled radar detector, and it works!

I have only had 2 issues with the car since i have had it. I have had to replace the starter about 2 weeks ago, and when I bought the car, the windshield had a slight crack that was barely noticeable, but I had it replaced a couple of weeks ago as well, and it really looks great.

Oil was just changed with Mobile-1 5W-30 Synthetic.

I am a stickler for originality on C4 corvettes. I am a purist. One of my pet peeves is the Bose Stereo. In my opinion, nothing sounded better in the mid-late '80s. I will not buy an early C4 if someone has replaced it with a non factory type stereo. This '87 is equipped with the UU-8 905.00 option Bose. And when I first got the car, the cassette even worked, but maybe it just needs a good cleaning, but it will only play a cassette for a few seconds, then it kicks it out. It comes with the rare Bose factory manual. The Bose radio and speakers sound as clear, crisp, and great as it did when new.

Comes with nice indoor/outdoor cover with cotton liner, also, not pictured a nice matching dash protector. ( dash has no cracks)

Wheels are very nice with very minor scratching.

I have a clear open Florida title.

Also, a stack a service records and receipts for replacement parts. Plus, original owners manual and GM leather pouch, original targa tool, and other misc paperwork.

This is an exceptionally looking vehicleand you will not find another one like it, I just don't have time to drive it much, and it needs to be driven and enjoyed.

I have priced this car at a fair market price. Not NADA or KELLY BLUE BOOK. You can't go by those on C4s right now. They will not bring that kind of money. I have my reserve lower than what they give for a vette in this condition. Someday the C4 will be appreciated for what it is, and what they did for the corvette legacy. They are truly the most fun for the money than any corvette, and in my opinion, if it wasn't for the C4, there would not of been a C5, 6, or C7!! They really brought the performance and handling back to America's Sports Car!!

I'm sure I have left something out, but I have plenty of photos, so please email me for more if needed. You can email me at bluemoontheatres@aol.com for more photos or questions. You can also call anytime before 9pm est @423-402-5317
