Car description

1953 Chevrolet 3100 Truck. Complete Restoration. Beautiful!Despite my falling in love with this Chevy in the process of restoring it, y wife says I have too many toysand it has to go! The truck is an absolute beauty and gets about 15 compliments per tank of gas. Thistruck is original, ront to back, ith all of the body panels with the exception of the bumpers, ailgate and the front splash guard, nd front grill. The engine was upgraded from a 216 to a 235 by a previousowner, nd it has undergone a 6 volt to 12 volt conversion. In the restoration process I replaced the fuelgauge to match the 12 volt system. The paint is single stage (no clear coat) urethane system in a twotone exterior and gray and darker shades of red interior. My wife asked me to install seat belts but theycan be easily removed or tucked below if you don't like them. The upholstery was re-done, ith traditional cardboard door panels and head liner. The seat wascompletely disassembled and rebuilt. All body panels were removed and sandblasted as part of theprocess, nd the exhaust is new from the muffler out. Mechanically, have not touched the engineinternals, he transmission, r differential, owever the clutch assembly is new. I replaced points, lugs, condenser, otor, istributor, nd coil. The truck still has the original 4 speed transmission and torque tube rear end. I have done my best to balance modernizing the truck for today's needs, ut attempted to preserve asmuch of the original truck as possible. If you compare this to other products out there I think you will findthat I have gone to great lengths to ensure a quality product, ncluding a near to-the-frame restoration(photos of dis-assembled process available upon request). Here is a list of the more relevant items I have completed:ï‚· New clutch disk, ressure plate, nd release bearingï‚· New oak bed with stainless steel installation hardwareï‚· New front and rear bumpers, ailgate, nd splashguardï‚· New gas tank and fuel sending unitï‚· New alternatorï‚· New heater fan motorï‚· New fuel pumpï‚· New steering drag linkï‚· Removed and sandblasted hood latch, ront fenders, nner fenders, ed panels, running boards, 6" wheels and rear fenders.ï‚· Dis-assembled and painted the cab with all glass, oors, nd dash completelyremoved.ï‚· Professionally repaired radiator, ith new radiator and heater hosesï‚· Replaced points, lugs, ondenser, oil and plug wiresï‚· Multi-tone paint, ncluding white top, ed body, lack running boards, rey interior(2 shades, ot 50), nd deep red accent steering wheel to match originalï‚· Replaced exterior door handles, nd serviced windows and seals as part of therestorationï‚· New muffler and tail pipeï‚· Replaced all rubber from tires (235/85 R16) to cab windlace sealsï‚· Battery less than one year old, ut not newï‚· New temperature (original sealed bulb style) oil pressure (original style, pgradedto 60 PSI range for 235 engine, nd fuel gaugesï‚· New speedometerï‚· Stainless steel bolts used for reconstructionï‚· Stainless hub capsï‚· Many other repaired items and new parts that would simply be expected as partof a restoration. Feel free to inquire. If you look closely at this truck you will see that I have taken every step toward a quality product that Ipossibly could. In some instances it has been necessary to make a value judgment regarding approachand technique. For example, preserved the dashboard components not knowing their age andattempted to match the interior color scheme to what was present when I bought the truck I hope you willbe pleased. Door handles, indow and door weather stripping, ail lights, tc. were purchased almostexclusively from Classic Parts online. I have a complete list of parts replaced and a summary ofinformation I researched as part of the restoration for the successful buyer.Conditions for Purchase:Please only bid if you're serious. Once a home to hornets and wild flowers, his vehicle is now in remarkably goodcondition for a 1953, ut it is not showroom quality. There are flaws evident in many places you look, nda white glove inspection will likely disappoint the critical observer. However, ou'll find that I go to greatlengths with quality, nd I have already received reviews tremendous reviews from everyone from casualviewers to professional restorers. It is stunning, nd fun, nd even though it won't take you down thefreeway at 74 MPH, t will take you back to 1953 pretty darn quick! The vehicle is sold as-is. Nowarranties.
