Car description

This auction is for a 1957 Chevy Bel Air Convertible Project Car. I purchased it 4-5 years ago and have put a ton of money into it, ut I can't take it with me, o I need it gone. This is NOT an original, umbers matching car. This IS however a true Bel Air Convertible, itled as such. I purchased the car with the rear body work mostly completed. They appear to have replaced the quarter panels and floors. All work looks to be clean and solid. They had also shaved the speaker hole in the top of the dash and filled the heater on the firewall. They also modified the frame to have a corvette rear axle. I purchased the car complete minus the engine, ransmission and driveline. The trim had already been removed and in boxes, ut appears to be mostly, f not all there.Since my purchase, found a rebuild 396, urned into a 434 Big Block Stroker. I am told it produces 500+ hp. I then purchased a performance built turbo 400 transmission to handle the power. I had the rear end completely rebuilt with posi 3.55 gears, eals, earings etc.I cleaned up the frame and had it powder coated. The body came off the car and on an auto twirler to get cleaned up and the underside professionally coated with truck bedliner material. At this time I also had the firewall and dash completely body worked and the firewall painted so I can install the engine.I installed a complete coil over front suspension, new power steering and new front and rear disc brakes. All components are new. Then engine, ransmission and custom driveshaft are all installed. I dressed the engine in chrome and billet including a cog pulley system that makes the engine look like it has a blower.I started wiring the car to hear it run, ut didn't get the correct headers to clear the power steering gear box and thats where I stopped the build. I easily have 45K-50K into the car at this point and another 500 plus hours of labor. Not installed, ut included are a new tilt steering column. Whats left. Mostly Body work! The fenders need to have some patches, nd body work. The doors either need replacing, r the bottom of one is rusted out and both need skins. The rear body came to me in primer so I don't know the history of it. If I was building the car I would have the rear body sanded and started over. The suspension, rakes and steering is all new and solid. Engine should fire right up and the car should drive like a dream. It will need some better fitting headers and exhaust system. It will need wheels and tires (will come with junk to roll the car around on). I have a pair of front seats that will work in the car, ut rear seat is just a frame. It will need complete paint and interior. The wiring is 30% complete, o that needs to be finished. Then after paint, ou will need to obviously install the chrome trim and bumpers. The rear bumper is missing, ut I have a complete rechromed front. The glass is also missing.I hate to get rid of this car, ut its time. Clear, lean title in my name ready to transfer. Ask any questions you may have.
