Overview This is something you don’t find everyday - a survivor 1954 Series 62 Cadillac Coupe Deville. Complete and numbers matching this car is mostly original. It has been family owned for most of its life and garage stored as a “keeper”. The odometer shows 19,300 miles, but actual mileage maybe 119,300. I will be honest and accurate in all details of the car so as a buyer you know how special this car is.
Body
The body on this Coupe Deville is extremely solid and straight. It retains all factory bumpers, chrome trim, emblems, scripts and hood ornament. The body lines are straight and line up beautifully and door gaps are great. The car has been repainted in factory colours decades ago and shows some body filler cracking on the driver side rear quarter, some fading on the roof and minor chips from use. The car has not been under coated, so there is no hidden rust issues throughout the floor pans or trunk area. The only rust on this car is on the passenger side rocker panel and is localized to a 2”x3” spot.
Mechanical / chassis
The original 331 cu in v8 and Hydra-matic transmission are in place. The car runs, drives and stops reliably, ready for weekend cruising. The engine is said to have been rebuilt, and runs flawless. The transmission shifts smoothly and has been rebuilt with documentation to show. The exhaust has been redone from the factory manifolds back to the bumper exit exhaust tips and is quiet for enjoyable cruising. The wide white wall tires are crack free, have like new tread and only a couple years old. The entire fuel system including tank, pump, and sending unit are new. All coolant, engine oil, transmission fluid and gear oil in the rear end have just been replaced within the last month. The frame shows no damage no rust issues.
Electrical
1954 was the first year of power widows in a Cadillac and they all work. The wiring in this car is original and has not been replaced or modified. It isn’t a complete rat nest and is reliable. There is a newer battery in the car and it is gets plugged into a “smart” charger when the car is stored.
Interior
The inside of this car all original. The seats, door panels and all filler panels are covered in factory upholstery with the Cadillac crest and factory leather. The dash is unmolested showing the factory radio which functions and clock which does not. Even the power adjustable bench seat still works. There are a few stains on the interior and wear on the upholstery, but they are only original once! All switches, interior lights, cigarette lighters, heater controls, wipers work as they should.
This timeless Coupe Deville is a perfect cruiser as is, or a prime candidate for a complete restoration - buyer’s decision. I will work with shipping company to accommodate a smooth and easy transaction.
