Car description

1960 Cadillac Coupe Deville was as large as the shadow its nearly 19-foot-long silhouette cast on the freshly minted freeways of the Fifties. The 1960 Cadillac was the pinnacle of panache and more than 50 years later, this example, in Seminole Red, exudes all of that American blend of confidence and optimism that characterized the era — and helped make Cadillac a global icon. The overall condition of the car appears to be very good to excellent for its age.The carpet and seat upholstery are in good overall condition; and the heater and air-conditioning systems are said to function properly. All of the correct trim appears to be in place, too, and the power windows are also functioning properly.Under the hood is the 325-hp version of the Cadillac division’s 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine, which is fed by a four-barrel carburetor. It fires easily with a few pumps of the gas pedal, shows no smoke at startup and settles into a good idle.Come on, it doesn’t get any better than a red Coupe Deville! Pristine, restored-to-original ’60 Coupe Deville offered for sale in Gainesville GA. Red with Silver Black Cordray and White Florentine Leather Interior (Code 40). Clean and STRAIGHT! Fabulous Coupe Deville…The car has been in the family for six years. It has had a complete mechanical, frame-off restoration. New battery, fuel tank, fuel pump, valve cover gaskets, rebuilt Rochester carb, wiper motor, heating and air are now working, and rebuilt transmission. This CDV was originally Olympic White, but had a red cosmetic repaint in 2005, and the interior is a well preserved original in black and silver Cordray cloth with white Florentine leather. Lots of chrome! VIN 60J127073. Owner has binder full of old photos and service records.Cadillac built only 21,585 Coupe Devilles in 1960, about 40% of all Devilles built that year. At the time the average annual US income was about $5,300 – roughly the same as the list price of this car in 1960 ($5,500). It’s a high-end automobile, now and then. This Coupe Deville was delivered in St. Louis and spent time in dry climates in ID, NM and CA before moving to Georgia. It appears to have been garaged for its lifetime. It has been with the current owner (its third) in Georgia since 2013 – and has been driven sparingly in that time. It has almost no body rust and has never been in an accident. Complete service records. It is a high-quality SURVIVOR with nearly 60 years of care and maintenance by dedicated collectors.
