Cadillac celebrated record sales in 1955, selling over 140,000 vehicles! Largely due to updated design attributes that included a remodeled grill with wider spaces between... the blades, relocated turn signals under the headlights, chrome ribbed moldings below the rear deck lid, unique body side moldings, with the V-shaped emblem and Cadillac crest prominently highlighted at the rear! Offered here is a superbly original 1955 Cadillac Series 62 Hardtop Coupe finished in Ascot Gray and special order Alpine White roof, along with the matching all original Light Gray and Dark Gray Gabardine Cloth interior! Under the hood lies its number's matching 331ci OHV V8 producing a stout 250 horsepower and Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Optioned very well with factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, E-Z-Eye glass, heater/defrost, door edge guards, passenger vanity mirror, pushbutton AM radio with antenna, fender skirts, and newer American Classic radial wide whitewall tires measuring 235/75R15. It continues to survive in remarkably solid, rust free condition having been a southern example all its life, which today shows a mild patina that is pleasing to the eye and easily appreciated! Selling originally from Darby-Everest in Oklahoma City, OK according to the trunk bade still affixed to the deck lid, it made its way south into Texas for the latter part of its life. It continues to possess gorgeous fitment & shut lines on all panels indicative of how it left the factory new! All stainless trim and chrome are original showing wear conductive to a garage kept classic showing 95,075 original miles on the odometer! Our records indicate it was in Lewisville, TX through 2012, then sold to a Venus, TX collector that spring. It had 92,352 miles at that time proving it was enjoyed annually averaging 400 miles each year, supposedly for football tailgating at TCU in Fort Worth. With regular maintenance and exercise, we can report it continues to run very well today!
