Car description

I AM STARTING THIS AUCTION AT A PENNY AND IT WILL SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. You are looking at an exceptionally unique and rare vehicle. This is a 1983 Cadillac Sedan DeVille FLOWER CAR. This vehicle was converted from a factory delivered 4 door sedan to a Professional Service Car used in Funeral Processions to carry all the flowers from the church or funeral home to the grave side. These are used mainly in the North East. Chicago and the West Coast. You may have even seen Cab Calloway driving an older Flower car in the Blues Brothers movie as he hands flyers to kids to deliver to folks in the neighborhood. Short clip. but its in there. I bought this from a collector who had several hearses but this was his only flower car and he had no room for it. He had done quite a bit to it before I bought it including brakes. exhaust. tires and assorted other mechanical issues to ensure it was properly running and safely driving. I bought it and spent a small boatload on professional paint and body work. It has a little rust in the rear quarter on the drivers side and along the bottom of the front passenger door. All rust was ground out and new metal welded in. I will most likely be sorry I sold it but I have an '05 VW TDI with 290K on it and I drive A LOT! If I drove a lot less. I'd probably keep this. It is the HT 4100 CC (High Technology) 4. 1L V/8 with electronic fuel injection. Brakes are real solid. drives straight. stops straight. Floats down the road like you would expect a Cadillac to. Tires are very good. lots of tread. Ride leveling system works. Has tilt. cruise. all the amenities. Power windows work. I have taken pics to show everything I would want to know if I were interested in buying the car. All four doors work. The area behind the drivers seat is essentially storage. The entire bed is stainless steel. This is not a perfect car but with the new paint. body and pinstripe. it is a very presentable car and could be driven daily if you wanted. The seat won't move. I can hear clicking when I push the adjustment buttons. but it doesn't go anywhere. May be something small. but there are thousands of available parts as this style of Sedan DeVille was made for numerous years. Will need a new battery. I can start it on a jump but it has been in the car for about 7 years and came from Rural King so was most likely not the strongest battery. The car has 80K and change on the clock. The seats are not ripped. Carpet is a a bit faded in the front but not torn and the car has been kept either under cover or in a garage. As you can imagine. a funeral home would have kept this car in a garage and kept it in excellent condition. Please remember it is 32 years old and has some signs of aging. I took about 45 pics today and will supersize all the best pics for the best detail. If you would like a specific pic. email me through eBay and include your phone nmbr and I'll text you what every pic you want. You can see the remains of Snowmaggedon 2015 in the background. This could be a great tailgating rig. Fill the back with ice and put beer in it!! Use for your own purpose or add to your collection. This is a very affordable unit and is a lot more useable than a standard hearse. IMO. Frequently asked questions are: "Will it make it to __________?" I can't guarantee anything but I drove it today and it was fine. Not licensed so I didn't go far. I don't see why it wouldn't make a trip. "Will I trade?" No. I'm selling straight out. "Do I have a Buy It Now Price?" No. it sells for what it sells for. "Can I come see/drive it?" Absolutely. Email me through eBay and we can set it up. Ask any questions and I'll post it to the ad site for all to see. Thanks for looking at the auction and good luck. On Mar-01-15 at 19:20:33 PST. seller added the following information:It HAD rust. not "has" rust as read in the third line of the second paragraph above. The car does NOT HAVE RUST. IT WAS REMOVED AND NEW METAL WELDED IN. The paint is about 4 months old. As there is a lot of interest in this car I am attaching my phone number for questions you may have about the car. I am on Eastern time270 872 7507.
