1939 Cadillac LaSalle coupe. model 39-5027. Only 3531 made. cost $1240 new! This was the 1st year for the optional. but free. running boards. and the only year for LaSalle. infamous 'waterfall' art deco designed grill. The car retains the original. and almost impossible to find. rear wheel covers as well as it's original hub caps. These cars are one exceptional vehicle like no other. The sheer size of them is something to behold and no car of this era came close to their lavish designs and build quality. The car has had a modern update of it's drive line with what looks to be a 425 V8 Auto. from a late 70's Cadillac (1977?) It has been fitted with the tilt steering from the Cadillac with it's original steering wheel. it has A/C. power steering & rebuilt power brakes. nd electronic cooling fans. So it is all Cadillac. and not a mixed match of parts from other manufacturers. She drives just like a modern car while retaining all of it's original glory. with the body. dash & interior all left stock original. The interior has been tastefully reupholstered in a true to era pattern in gorgeous jet Black suede. ome pics make it look grey? The rear has the flip up Opera seating for two. The underside of this car is simply amazing with no repairs or restorations. just super clean you could eat off of. She has the gorgeous wide whitewall tires for that classic look. and is an absolute blast to drive and a traffic stopper like nothing i have seen. From young to old. Male to Female. everybody compliments you on this one and always asks you 'what is that!?'The restoration looks to have been done around the late 70's or early 80's. The striking color combination of yellow & black is what really sets this one apart from the rest. The paint still shows quite well but of course is not perfect. with a few minor imperfections here and there but very presentable as is. and does not need repainting unless you wanted to have a show car. All lights. urn signals & horns are working. as are the original gauges on the dash. with the exception of the fuel gauge. which has been updated with some others & concealed in the glove compartment. There is NOTHING to do on this car but simply drive & enjoy. You can take her anywhere local or cross country if you choose.
