Car description

1966 Cadillac DeVille Convertible 77,900 Miles 2 Owners Since New VIDEO WITH LISTING VIN: F6173208 Paint: Antique Gold (44-1) Trim: Light Gold Leather (384-N) We purchased this ‘66 Convertible from a local gentleman, the second owner. Delivered new to Wooster, Ohio in January 1966, the car remained with the original owner in Ohio until the car was sold and relocated to Chicago in the early 1990s. As it sits this is a dry, nicely sorted driver that has some cosmetic downfalls. If you’re in the market for... an example that you can drive and enjoy without stressing about cosmetic neatness, this is a great candidate. The car will come with the original owners manual, booklets, and protecto plate, as well as a clean Illinois title. Exterior: - Please see the video accompanying the listing, as the car is shown in detail. All blemishes are shown close up and in direct sunlight. - While the car was originally Antique Gold, it was repainted black at some point. Paint shines well, but was not done to a very high standard. There are multiple spots where the paint is peeling, cracking, or bubbling. Again, please defer to the video. - Wheels are in excellent shape, tires are a bit older. - Chrome pieces are very nice. Minimal oxidation and no dents or dings. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. - White convertible top is powered and functional. In very nice shape with the exception of one spot on the passenger side where the welt is coming apart. This is not through, and the top is watertight. - While the paint isn’t great, the body itself is very nice and dry. The lower corners of each panel are free of any rust or bubbling, including the corners of the skirts, where we always see rust on these cars. Interior: - Interior is nice and original. Seats are free of any major scuffs or damage in both front and rear, though the driver’s seatback is pulling away from the plastic a bit. - Top of the dash is excellent, with no cracks or damage. - Gauges are all functional. As is heat/defrost/fan. Air conditioning is not. Odometer reads 77,903 and is believed to be accurate based on the impressive condition of the underhood/underbody. - Original radio is functional. - Polished portion of the dash looks good, though the trim around the fan controls is a bit banged up. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it’s documented in detail. Underbody is the strongest part of the car. Absolutely no through rust. No damage or anything of the sort. This car has been garage-kept in the Midwest since new and it shows. - The car runs and drives very well. It starts right up, accelerates nicely with no hesitation or stuttering, shifts smoothly, and brakes nice and straight. The 429ci V8 provides more than sufficient power (340hp), and the suspension is extremely forgiving. Overall, this is a nice driver-level 2dr convertible.
