The Cadillac motorcar looks and drives exceptionally well and was designed to be an American luxury car maker's answer to European luxury models. This 1979 Cadillac Seville is timeless in its good looks and continues to generate an engaging presence. This sedan is one of the most completely loaded Seville's from storied Sewell Village Cadillac of Dallas. This gorgeous car was originally owned by Dallas arts patron Lillian Clark who created the Clark Wing at the Dallas Museum of Art in honor of her late husband James. Lillian's "buggy". as she affectionately called it. was offered for sale by her son who wanted it to have another great home. It has remained garage kept as well under its second owner and as a result the original dashboard. armrests and steering wheel are all in excellent original condition. Lillian Clark led a life that could be chronicled in a made-for-TV movie or the big screen. However she was always demure and avoided public displays and remained more private and behind the scenes. Lillian lived in London at Claridge House with her husband James during the Art Deco era of the 1920's. 30's and 40's and maintained a residence there for decades even after moving to Dallas. Even then during the London days the Clark's were major arts patrons and supported the likes of masters in the making such as Legiet. Piet Mondrian. Brancusi. among others. Lillian declined the factory wire wheel option. the CB radio. and the 8 track tape because they were too "flashy". Other than those three items the car is fully loaded. Lillian also had grey naugahyde installed over the grey velour so that when she road as a passenger she could slide in and out much easier as she was driven by her nurses to most of her engagements. Further. as a connected event the Board of Directors of Philadelphia Electric had voted to gift Lillian and James. major board members themselves. a fully loaded Cadillac Seville which was declined. She did not want the shareholders to bear the brunt of that expense. as it was viewed by her as frivolous and wasteful. and she stated she would buy one herself and thanked them profusely for their act of generosity and accolade. As a result this beautiful 1979 Cadillac Seville came to embody Lillian's view of her what her "buggy" should be like. The car has excellent provenance and "lived" for many years parked in the garage of 3525 Turtle Creek. a highrise condo tower overlooking Turtle Creek in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas. It has since been kept in a private inside structure near Downtown Dallas and out of the elements. This is your chance to own an extremely original low mileage personal luxury car accompanied with all associated original papers.
