DOCUMENTS, PARTS AND A STELLAR CLASSIC CAR....OH MY!!
Here it is folks, your chance to earn an exceptional car that comes with an immense amount of documentation, lots of spare parts....and of course the head turning land yacht that you see before you! Please read through the entirety of this auction to fully understand what comes with this car, and all of the details of the car itself! I will be thorough so please bear with me....being thorough can be boring, but it helps you the buyer make an informed decision!
ONE OF THE MOST DOCUMENTED CLASSICS I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!
I kid you not when I say this car is one of the most documented cars I've ever seen. It comes with a box that has a plethora of receipts that go back to the early 80's including the name of the previous owner, Cadillac manuals, body manuals, brochures, cadillac club collectible books, parts books the list is absolutely mind boggling...look at the pictures. I could barely fit all the documents into a single picture!
HEAD TURNING LAND YACHT THAT WILL MAKE YOU GRIN FROM EAR TO EAR!
That's right, take this beauty out for a spin and it will be hard not to wear a smile! Everywhere I took this beauty somebody would be pointing...from the side of the road, coming the opposite way, at the light...this is a total attention getter! Definitely not the car for a shy person!
As you can see from the plethora of paperwork this car has had an enormous amount of care and effort that went into its upkeep. The owner absolutely loved this care and it is apparent! The car drives absolutely phenomenal and can literally burnout with little to no effort. It's estimated to have nearly 500hp according to the previous owner...although I haven't dynoed it to verify that claim, a simple butt dyno road test will most likely confirm that those numbers are accurate in your head!
So lets go over this car part by part....
Mechanical: Turn the key and this beauty fires right up. This Caddy runs and drives great with a nice smooth idle, gobs of torque and acceleration that will take you smoothly to speed with a nicely shifting transmission. The suspension feels nice and smooth just as you would expect from a land yacht like this. A/C is present but is currently not hooked up and functioning. It also comes with spare a/c parts for if you decide to try to get that working. Gauges all seemed to work fine except the clock...which rarely work in any classic car. Power windows all went up and down and the convertible top works with ease.
Interior: The fit and finish of the entire interior is exceptional considering this is a 50 year old car! Although I could be wrong, when going through the unending pile of receipts, I saw nothing that hinted to the interior being restored. That to me gives the impression that this more than likely is an original interior...which if that is the case is mind boggilingly clean! You have to see it to believe it. A very light natural patina to it that reflects the love and care this owner put into this beauty.
Exterior: The paint looks nice but does have some scratches here and there. This car was repainted many years back and the receipts actual paint wrapper with color info is all provided with the documentation. Chrome all around is in driver level shape. Nice from a few feet away, but if you get close you'll see it isn't perfect. Rear chrome has a little ding in it as shown in the picture. The car does come with a spare rear bumper that can be replaced...I can even have it installed for a small fee. Passenger side is very straight and the seams are all pretty flush. Drivers side fender is starting to push out a bit...this is due to what I believe is the frame starting to fatigue. The underside does not look all rusted out, however there is some rust on the frame and a few things lead me to believe that this car in my opinion will need a new frame rather soon. The front fender is pushing out on the drivers side and not on the passenger side. The drivers side windows do not flush up to the convertible top when it is down in the drivers side. Those things hint to me it may need frame repair. Another issue I noticed was the rear floor pan under the rear seat cushion has rust and has a hole you can see through...so it will need a new floor pan there.
IN CLOSING:
The crazy thing is again if you drive this car it drives astonishingly well, if you look at it and walk-around it again it looks exceptional for a car of this vintage and when looking at the interior, the extra parts and the exorbitant amount of documentation it becomes glaringly obvious that if ever there was a car for you to put a little money into to make it right...this is it!
1965 Caddy Deville's usually bring near $40,000.....and none of them are this documented. Buy this beauty for a small fraction of that, put a small amount of money into it...and you have yourself a bargain classic car that is sure to bring you many years of joy and should have a good amount of equity left in it!
THIS IS ONE OF THOSE RARE CHANCES THAT YOU OFTEN HEAR ABOUT...THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY...THAT CAR THAT YOU SHOULD'VE TAKEN THE PLUNGE ON! THIS IS IT!
