Car description

1957 brought us one of the last of the really pretty Cadillacs, before all the wacky fins and bloated bodies were introduced.

This 1957 Cadillac Coupe de Ville has been in the family since new. Always garaged, this car spent its first 25 years in California’s Central Valley, then moved to the Pacific Northwest where it has been stored in a dry shop.

General Condition:

EXTERIOR

Paint is generally good overall, but fair to poor in some areas.

Apparently, this car was involved in an incident requiring re-painting the deck lid and part of the left rear quarter panel. Extent of the actual damage is unknown, but the rear bumper is straight. All other paint is original.

There are some stains and numerous small pits on the hood and the front left quarter panel.

There is a crease in the front left quarter panel that runs from near the bottom of the wheel well to just shy of the door frame. Although there are the typical nicks in the paint, there are no other dings or dents in the body panels.

Chrome is typical for an un-restored vehicle of this vintage.

Upper front bumper is good (rubber trim is good), but lower section (below grille) has 2 creases.

Rear bumper is fair because of corrosion around the exhaust ports.

Trim chrome (accent strips, door handles, grille accent panels, etc.) is fair/good. Grille is intact and in good condition.

Lights and their bezels are all in good physical condition with no damage, but operation has not been verified.

Glass is very good except for a crack in the left wing window. There are no chips, cracks or de-laminations in any other glass.

Replacement tires have little actual wear, but have been on the car since 1995. Original wheel covers are in very good condition.

INTERIOR

Upholstery is fair/poor. The leather is in pretty good shape, but the cloth sections are poor with tears on the driver seat. Rear seat is fair.

Dash is not cracked or damaged. Carpets are somewhat stained.

Interior chrome parts are fair/good with minimal corrosion. There is some light corrosion in the door frames/sills and on dash below instrument panel.

Engine compartment is reasonably clean and all parts (spare, jack, etc) are in place.

Trunk fabric is fair/poor but there are no serious rust problems in this compartment. Original spare wheel is mounted with a replacement tire.

Plans were made to replace the brakes, but the owner did not complete the job. All brake parts that were purchased are included with the sale. These parts are pictured.

Although reasonable efforts have been made to represent this automobile in its current condition, buyers are encouraged to personally inspect the vehicle.

This vehicle is not road-ready. It has been in dry storage since 1995, and, although it is believed that the vehicle is structurally sound, no claims as to road-worthiness are made. This vehicle is being sold as-is, with no warrantees or guarantees implied.

This vehicle is offered for local pick up only. Buyer must make arrangements to retrieve the vehicle in a timely manner after the sale is completed.

Please Note: Vehicle is in a location that is not accessible to large trucks. A one-car auto-transport van or trailer (maximum length 26’) is suggested. Transport companies must contact seller at least 24 hours in advance to schedule the pick up.
