1978 Buick Riviera LXXV Anniversary Edition Coupe 2-Door 6.6L

Up for sale is a 1978 Buick Riviera LXXV model.

If you know these cars you know that only 2889 were built.

That made them pretty exclusive right out of the gate.

How many are even left?

They were dressed similar to the 1978 Corvette pace car with a Black over silver paint scheme. Leather seats with black piping was the standard trim on this beautiful sported up version. Brushed Aluminum trim inside replaced the wood grain that the lesser models had.

For 1978 a special "LXXV" edition was released to commemorate Buick's 75th anniversary on the market. Production total was 2889 and included special silver & black paint with gray leather seats with black trim brushed chrome trim deep pile carpeting and special LXXV name plates.

Last year the Riviera was rear wheel drive.

This fine example has the Optional big engine the 403 6.6L V8 which is ALL ORIGINAL including Carburetor Compressor Engine and entire Drivetrain

You will see a very well preserved vehicle with original seating original AM/FM 8 track tape player and Air Conditioning that blows ICE COLD on R12 Freon...Not some lesser and inferior refrigerant. AC serviced by McCain's AC the best AC shop in Dallas. Entire system evacuated re-oiled and all O-rings replaced! Over $400 for this and allreceipts available!

I am the 3rd owner. The car was purchased form anelderly gentleman who purchased the car from his best friend of 50 years. Texas titled and registered in my name.

Look under the hood. You will find a very stock example of the 1978 Olds 403 engine. All Vacuum lines connected as they were originally. It is ALL ORIGINAL and fires up the first time!

Some new minor maintenance items include a carb rebuild at Texas Classic Cars of Dallas new plugs and cap and rotor. Wires are ALL ORIGINAL!

The vehicle has been well preserved. It is not a perfect show car but it is a great looking driver that gets a lot of attention wherever you go.

Most of these have been butchered up to one degree or another either under the hood or the dashboard for some late model radio. This is like a time capsule out of the late 70's. If you know about the LXXV you know they are very hard to find and even if you can find one it probably won't look like this one.

DID I MENTION I HAVE THE ORIGINAL BUILD SHEET FOR THIS CAR!!!!

I have records for all work done to this vehicle. Full exhaust system from Summit Racing with receipts. Did I mention the ORIGINAL Uniroyal spare tire from 1978 is in the back? the trunk carpet leather interior and all weather stripping is immaculate!!! There is a small crack on the arm rest panel on the drivers door otherwise no cracks ANYWHERE! NO stains. No dash scuffs. Back seat appears as though it has never been used! As with any 37 year old car there is mild paint checking but the patina is preserved and the car is only original once!

This car is originally a Canadian car and has < 40000 original miles. It has the original floor mats which I saved and purchased brand new mats from ACC interiors which were over $200. With the carcomes a BRAND new full STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST SYSTEM made by WALKER and includes all pipes and clamps form the manifolds to the tailpipe. The vinyl trop is BRAND NEW and soft without a crack. The car is a time capsule and I am very sad tohave to sell it believe me. I value this car tremendously because it'sthe car my mom and dad had when I wasgrowing up buteventsin my life have forced me to sell some of my mostvaluedpossessions. This car will travel across the country today with not a single problem. You will freeze with the R-12 AC pumping out freezing cold air. New engine oil new transmission fluid radiator flush and coolant. Whoever buys this car and keeps it will have a lifetime of enjoyment. Included is an 8 track adapter towhich you can connect youriPod or phone and listen to your favorite 70's songs. I havelistened to the Bee Gees countless times in this car to my pure delight.
