Car description

This listing is proudly represented by Sherman Auto Sales, nc. in Fenton, o. We are a 69 year old Family Used Car licensed dealership that specializes in Vintage and Special interest vehicles as well as antiques.I will be pleased to discuss this carover the phone in detail with anyone. My direct number is 314 920-2804. Mark Sherman, res. *This 1960 Buick Electra 225 h/top Riviera was a 2 year production only. This is a very real and honest 30,306 true miles car. This car is fully equipped, ncluding COLD FACTORY A/C that is still operating on R12. We purchased this from the son of the family that has owned this car since 1963. The son inherited this car in 2000. I have a written appraisal that was from 6/3/2000 with 29,947 miles. I have a Mo. inspection certificate with 30,041 miles. It has been driven less then 300 milesin 14 years. This has always been a St. Louis, o. car.Thefamily has maintained the car even though it has had very little use.I have personally driven this carover 50 miles and it is wonderful car. It is as tight as can be. Mechanically it runs and drives very well. The motor is extremely strong and very quiet. It starts very well with just a few pumps of the accelerator. It starts equally as well when the motor is warm and has been driven. (I drove it 20 miles today in 90 degree + temperature). The transmission performs exactly as you would expect a low mileage car to operate. This has a recent new exhaust system that was replaced by the previous owner. It has a very nice deep sound with the dual exhaust When I purchased the car,it was sent to a friend & car mechanic that has a real love and passion for older cars. He was given an open ticket, o do whatever he felt was needed.Work that was performed is as follows. New Delco Battery installed. Oil change and lubrication, C was properly evacuated, eld good vacuum and was serviced with R12 Freon. This system holds over 4 lbs. Fan belt replaced. Placed on an engine analyzer to set dwell, iming, nd carb. Repaired slight exhaust leak at connection.Other Misc. repairs were made. The mechanic mentioned that most everything was original and in outstanding condition. He commented that even some of the grease fittings had red plastic caps on them. This service ticket was $1300.00. The 2nd ownership family was so protective, hat the original hubcaps were removed and placed in a box for safe keeping. They are now back on the car. Theseating, eadliner, oor panels. sun visors, ack window package tray are all original, own to the plastic covers on the seats. I feel the rugs only have been replaced. They are as new and fresh as possible. There is a small split or opening in the plastic cover seat cover ONLY on the drivers edge that will show in the pictures. The tiresare BF Goodrich Silverton Bias ply tires, hat show no age, ut they are dated 1979. Everythingto the best of my knowledge, orks except the clock. The trunk has all the original material, ith very minor spotting from age. Spare tire and jack are correct. Originalbook is in the glove box. There is even a sticker in the glove box, or care to the Lacquer paint finish. There is a complete servicemanual in a sleeve addressed to the family in the trunk.I feel the lower beige color was been repainted in Lacquer many years ago. The original VIN tag and data plate are all as it came from the factory. All rivets have never been touched. I had the paint buffed and polished by a professional shop. The interior was wiped off with a damp cloth. The windows were cleaned. Theengine compartment was left the way it was, with the exception that the top metal cover above the shroud was light misted with a spray can, y the mechanic. This bill for polishing and detailing the outside was $300.00 There are a few minor imperfections in the paint. These are either very small nicks or small scratches that were touched up years ago. This is minimal. The son never did remember the car ever being painted and was surprised when I mentioned this. The appraisal said the paint was original. I feel the top dark brown coloris original and has not been repainted. The data tag from the appraiser shows this factory correct color combination. The car was apprised at $9500.00, 5 years ago. I have all the paper work for the work we had performed and the 15 year old appraisal as well.

*The car is a very solid, ot rusted, amp; a true survivor that has been cared for to a very high degree for years. This is a car that is worthy to be shown, ut would be a very enjoyable car to enjoy.

*I would again be pleased to discuss this car in detail . This car is available for any type of inspection.

*I would like to note: Their is a very small leak from the front seal of the transmission. This is minimal and is due to sitting. I would also recommend that even though the tires show very well, ue to age they should be replaced.

*The vehicle is being sold on a clean Mo. title. All proper paper work is being completed by a licensed Mo. Automobile dealer. Our company DOES NOT charge a documentary fee.*Our vehicles that we offer are sold with much pride. We are very proud of our reputation and the 69 years we have been in business. We are also very proud of our 16 years that we have been a seller on E-bay. Please check our history and feedback on E-bay as well as our website. We are listed on Google under Sherman Auto Sales, nc. Fenton, o. E-bay does not allow a website to be listed in the description. Our vehicles as they are used, re sold As-Is. *This is truly a very special car. It is striking in appearance with the 2-tone combination. The chrome and stainless is from a time when styling at General Motors was over the top.

*I have also copied and pasted below some additional information on the 1959 & 1960 Buick Electra that was listed on the internet. The following text information is specific to this car. The additional pictures were part of the text and do not represent the actual car being sold. This text is for informational purposes only.

1959-1960 BUICK

Prior to 1959, he Roadmaster and the Limited constituted the upper echelon of Buick's lineup. For 1959, hey were renamed the Electra and the Electra 225 respectively. The appearance was shared with two other Buick models, he entry level LeSabre and the mid-level Invicta.

The Electra 225 nameplate was a nod to the latter car's overall length of over 225in (5,715mm), arning it the street name "deuce and a quarter."

The Electra 225 Riviera was the top-line model and it shared its six window hardtop roof line exclusively with Cadillac (which offered it on all of its models). Buick first applied the "Riviera" name to a premium trimmed 2-door Roadmaster hardtop in the middle of the 1949 model year, nd thereafter denoted all Buick hardtops Rivieras. Also, rom 1950 through 1953, uick made a premium trimmed, tretched wheelbase sedan, xclusively in the Roadmaster and Super lines, hat was called Riviera. But 1959 was the first year that not all Buick hardtops were called Rivieras. A standard 4-window four-door hardtop was also available, s was a 4-door 6-window pillared sedan, long with a stripped chassis of which 144 were built in 1959 and 1960.The two-door convertible was only available as an Electra 225, nd the 2-door hardtop as an Electra.

1959

1959 Buick Electra 225 4-door 6-window Riviera hardtop

For 1959, he Electra and Electra 225 both used the General Motors C-body shared with the Oldsmobile 98 and all Cadillac, iding on a longer 126.3-inch (3,210mm) wheelbase than the B-body LeSabre and Invicta, oth of which rode on 123 inches (3,100mm). The standard and only available engine was the 401 cubic-inch Wildcat V8 with four-barrel carburetor, 0.25 to 1 compression ratio and 325 horsepower (242kW) mated to a two-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission, hich was also standard equipment along with power steering and power brakes using Buick's unique 12-inch (300mm) finned aluminum brake drums. Power windows and seat and leather interiors were standard on the Electra 225 convertible and optional on all other models. Front bucket seats were optional on the convertible. Electra interiors were trimmed in nylon Mojave cloth or broadcloth combinations with Cordaveen. Electra 225 convertibles were trimmed in leather. Standard Electra features included horizontal Red-line speedometer, wo-speed electric windshield wipers, rip mileage indicator, igar lighter, ual sunshades, tep-On parking brake, ual horns, win-Turbine automatic transmission, oamtex seat cushions, lectric clock, runk light, love box light, ower steering, ower brakes, ull wheel covers and dual exhaust. In addition Electra 225s had Super Deluxe wheel covers and an outside rear view mirror as standard equipment. Padded dashboards were also standard.

The Electra, long with all other 1959 Buicks, eatured all new styling shared with other GM divisions that included slanted headlights in front along with a highly chromed square grille somewhat similar to the 1958 Buick and "Delta-Fins" back along with round taillights. Exterior distinction from other Buicks came from extra-wide moldings, ith a massive Electra emblem on the front fender extension. The Electra 225 script was found on the front fenders ahead of the wheelhouse. The 4-door models had a lower bright rear fender molding as well.

1960

The 1960 Electra and Electra 225 received a minor facelift with a concave grille and horizontal headlights centered by Buick's then-new "Trishield" logo, hich is still in use today. Reintroduced to Electras and other Buicks for 1960 were the chrome VentiPorts first introduced in 1949 and last seen in 1957. Electra and Electra 225 models featured four VentiPorts on each front fender while lesser LeSabre and Invicta models had three VentiPorts. Electras featured wider rocker panel bright moldings and the Electra script on the front fenders ahead of the wheelhouse. Electra 225s featured a badge that was circled on the deck lid. The Electra 225 name was found on the front fenders in place of the Electra name.

Inside, revised instrument panel featured a "Mirromatic" speedometer for which the lens could be adjusted to better visibility to suit the driver. A new two-spoke steering wheel with horn bars was introduced, eplacing the time honored horn ring then still common to most automobiles. Brisbane cloth interiors graced closed models while the convertible was trimmed in leather. Convertibles also had a two way power seat adjuster and power windows standard.

The bucket seat option introduced on Electra 225 convertibles in 1959 was now available on Electra coupes and included a center consolette with storage compartment. Standard Electra features included windshield wipers, rip mileage indicator, igar lighter, ual sunshades, tep-On parking brake, ual horns, single-key locking system, win-Turbine automatic transmission, oamtex seat cushions, lectric clock, runk light, icense plate frames, love box light, ower steering and power brakes. In addition Electra 225s had back-up lights, Glare-proof rear view mirror, arking brake signal light, afety buzzer, ap light and Super Deluxe wheel covers as standard equipment.
