THE OVERVIEW
Offered for an appreciating new owner is this CUSTOM 1991 BMW 318is with TURBOCHARGED Alpina 3.5 liter engine!
Let me begin by making it clear that this is NOT your average E30-chassis BMW! It is a very special, highly modified, approximately 500 horsepower custom "345is"! At it's foundation, it is an absolutely rust-free, one-year-only 318is with just over 243,000 miles showing on it's working six-digit odometer. Finished in mostly original paint code #308, this single-stage "Brilliantrot" red specimen sports all original body panels with matching vins. The only body panels that have received paint work are the left front fender [minor scrape by the neighbor] and a front bumper refreshening. This special 28 year-old E30 [hard to believe it is actually that old] features the genuine BMW "is" front lip and rear trunk lid spoiler, manual sunroof, Euro Ellipsoid Smiley headlights, original "is" sport seats restored with an Alpina-stripe theme, E30 325ix rear seat with fold down center, M-tech II leather steering wheel and ZHP 5 speed shift knob. The windows have a 35% 3M tint and the wheels are Apex ARC-8 wheels 17x8.5" ET25 front and 17 x 9.5" rear ET35s with Bridgestone RE71R 215/45s front and 245/40 17" rears. THE DRIVETRAIN
At the heart of this little E30 is an M30B34 3.5 liter inline six cylinder engine from a Euro grey market E23 735i. This engine build has less than 10,000 miles. Main components include a Precision 6466 turbocharger set at approximately 26psi, JE/Athena cut ring head gasket, Alpina B7 TURBO camshaft, forged alloy Alpina B7 pistons, Bosch EV14 1000cc injectors, Coolingmist water/methanol injection system, Megasquirt PnP programmable ecu, electronic boost controller, E46 M3 radiator, Getrag 265 5 speed manual transmission with UUC Kevlar segmented clutch kit, Innovate LC-1 wideband 02 sensor and 3" turbo back exhaust with 22" Magnaflow muffler.

THE SUSPENSION
Underneath this rust-free California chassis free of any cutting or welding, high-performance modifications include [less than 1,000 miles on all components]: Sparco front and rear strut brace, five lug wheel conversion, Ground Control S/A coilover system, Eibach race springs 450 front and 550 rear, E30 M3 rear hubs and brakes, E36 M3 knuckles, wheel bearings, brake discs, calipers and struts, Ground control front camber and caster plates, welded rear subframe toe and camber correction plates.

THE BODY AND TRIM
This exterior of this 1991 BMW is in excellent, dry, clean 99.99% rust-free condition overall witha deep lustrous overall shine to the paint finish. As one would expect of a car of this age and miles, there are various light cosmetic imperfections like minor nicks, scratches and faded areas most notably atop the side view mirrors. Overall this is a stunning, no quite concourse-quality example!

THE INTERIOR
As I hope is articulated in the photos, the interior of this little E30 is in very good condition overall with all gauges in good working order. It sports an updated cd stereo, crank sunroof, manual sport seats and near-flawless crack-free dash. NOTE: this car does NOT have air conditioning!

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This 1991 "345is" starts easily with very good running engine with excellent acceleration, tight shifting transmission, solid suspension with tossable handling and radical turbo and exhaust sounds.
