1969 BMW 2002, 4 speed, Solid California Car, not Tii or Turbo or Baur.

Very nice 1969 BMW 2002, built Feb. 7,1969, imported to Hoffman Motors Feb.19,1969,

and delivered to original owner in Lafayette, CA onMay 23,1969.

Older repaint of original Polaris Silver Metallic (code 060) still looks good but has a variety of blemishes,

fading on upper surfaces, chips and scratches, as you may see in the photos.

The chrome and trim is in very good condition, the original interior is good,

but some cracks on the lower dash, a split seam on drivers seat,

and minor wear on original salt and pepper loop carpet. Headliner is excellent.

The car is very solid, good floor pans, rockers, shock towers, frame, sub-frame,

with a small rust area in the spare tire well, some bubbling on the trailing edge of the drivers side front fender,

and one small rust hole on the passenger side rocker/lower front fender, forward of the jack point.

The original engine was replaced with a factory replacement engine, reportedly on 8/2/84

and at 50415 miles. The working odometer shows 92934, believed to be actual, original miles.

The carburetor was upgraded to a Weber with auto choke, so the choke knob is disabled.

Everything else seems to work except the horn, windshield washers and aftermarket stereo.

The cars starts right up, runs very well with good power, no leaks or smoke.

It shifts smoothly however you can crunch it downshifting into 2nd gear if you’re not careful,

but you can certainly easily avoid it.

Original owners manual with owner’s notes, some early service records and

CA registration cards (1970’s) and a Genuine BMW replacement engine document.

Spare wheel and tire, jack, lug wrench and tool set.

The VIN #’s match on the data tag, inner fender stamp and steering column tag.

Clean CA title, on non-op so there’s no DMV penalties due.

CA vanity plates pictured are not included in sale but negotiable.
