Car description

For Sale is my 1981 BMW 633csi. It is time to thin out the "collection" and let someone else enjoy this great car. I purchased it on 11/7/2014 on ebay for $560. It was a non-runner and I had it car-hauled to San Diego. A quick look under the hood confirmed why it didn't run. A connecting rod was sticking out the side of the engine block.
A replacement engine was sourced from a salvage yard in No. Ca. and swapped in. The miles on the engine are unknown, but a compression test after installation showed the engine to be in good shape. My mechanic replaced all the seals, gaskets, fuel lines & filter, water pump, thermostat-basically anything that needed replacing..The flywheel was re-surfaced and new clutch installed. A new catalytic converter and muffler were also installed. The car passes CA smog test with ease.
Once I had the car running well, the entire underside and engine bay was steam cleaned. The car had dents on every corner of the fenders, trim pieces were missing and the emblems were worn out. All that was fixed and the car got a complete re-spray in the original Sahara Beige color. During the body and paint work, the sunroof was removed and the windshield and backlight were taken out, so that a new headliner could be professionally installed. New gaskets for the the sunroof, windshield and the backlight were installed, along with a new windshield. The final step was a wet-sand and buffing.
The interior was gutted and new carpet installed. A dash pad was put in to cover the cracks in the dash. The steering wheel is a Momo/Hartge and the shift knob is a wood Alpina, which were with the car when I bought it. The tires are Kumho Ecsta and the wheels are from Boyd Coddington. CD unit is a Blaupunkt.
In the past two months, the inner/outer tie rods were replaced and alignment done, so the car drives nice and straight. Fresh oil/filter change, trans and diff. fluid also done. The car comes with the original spare tire/wheel, owners manual, full set of tools, nice floor mats and a file folder of receipts over an inch thick.
I have tried to accurately describe the car and all that I have done with it over the past 2 1/2 years. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. Good Luck Bidding!!
